ToyWorld TW-T02 Aurora (Not-Searchlight)

Oh well, guess I'm in a minority here, but this just killed my interest in the Not-Throttlebot (Nottlebot?) line. Rollbar I still like, but all these changed alt modes (Wideload moreso) don't ring the right bells for me.

That thing is extremely well detailed, so much it won´t blend in well in Hasbro toys. It blows most of them out of the water.

But they sure will fit in superbly with Henkei/United figures! =)

Beautiful. They're like mini Alternators. Forget about who they are supposed to be homaging and take them for what they are, frickin' nice bots that transform into frickin' nice and realistic vehicles.

See, my problem here is that one of the things I consider really iconic to Searchlight's whole look is the pile of lights he has

I can see they've done a bit of a homage with the feet, but it isn't wowing me. I think its the black windows to boot, Searchlight always had a very blue dominated colour scheme with his blue windows and head, so the black really looks out of place

Heck, I think the helicopter from PCC pulled it off strong enough when it came out. There's just something here that's not evoking Searchlight as much as Rollbar was evoked in the last one

It's a nice vehicle mode so I shall not complain, but I can see the reason why a ford might have been nice since the original Searchlight was a Ford RS200 rally car.

Perhaps a Paris-Dakar style racing rally car would have been a nice mode for him.

I have to be honest, I am still blown away from the detailing on that alt mode, and I care very little about alt modes.

My only hope now is that when figure 6 is released that the other 5 will still be readily available at regular price so I can buy it as a set.
