After looking at that leaked image of the prototypes, it looks like M3's trailer mode will be even longer than City Commander, Protector, and Battle Tanker:

Should be a couple centimeters at least

I noticed that too. Bending them would be scary. LOL

It's minor for now but we don't know anything about the shin tabs. If those holes on TB don't align with Intimidator's tabs on the shins... :lol

Ok, big shout-out to seali_me for "inspiring me". I thought that every TB had those gaps alongside the hood, right ahead of the doors---then I saw he fixed his. For mine, it wasn't really about the "windows over the doors" issue. And gluing them in was actually the wrong thing to do. I *totally* disassembled the front half of the car, down to the pins. And shaved the area that I had previously glued. Reassmbled---gap was reduced! Tried the other side, shaved it more than the other---gap gone! So now I'm going to disassemble the first side, shave it down some more to match the other, and I should have a gap-less TB.

And it also seems to help the red thigh-plate issue a bit. I've also taken to sanding down the inside of the plates---that area is invisible in every mode, you could only see it DURING transformation. Just a tiny amount, but I think every paper's-breadth makes a difference there.

I'm curious---who else has the gaps between TB's hood and the front doors/fenders?. I may disassmble mine again just to take pics and show what I did, as a tutorial, if it's a common issue.

Also--for every screw in the front half of the car---make them "only tight enough to not back out". It makes everything fit and transform easier. I experimented---if I "fully" tightened the main screw that holds the halves together---not going to transform. Not without snapping the leg in half. The halves just won't spread enough if the screw is ALL the way in. Back it off a bit. You want some clearance/flex.

Similarly, the "feet" should hold the doors against the hood-sides----that's how the gap is closed. But if the screws are too tight, the doors can't flex enough---the feet aren't strong enough to press the doors in. Loosen things up, and ironically, you'll have fewer gaps. (plus, shaving down on the red "blade" section inside that's pressing against the doors from the inside).

Do people actually enjoy these figures? This thread always seems to be about gaps and tab issues. I own the first two but left them MIB for now. I'm thinking about selling them because they sound like a nightmare.

The negative discussions and complaints are just a very vocal minority, these are easily the best stand alone figures FP has made to date. You should open them.

Some of us are just really anal about vehicle mode. :)

After this and the Feral Rex thread, I think I may need to change my title from "Seeker" to "Voice of the Minority". :)

    ^ seconded.

The ones that are happy about their fansproject releases are too busy playing with them to post about them. Open 'em - transform 'em. They're more valuable to you personally that way.

I have the first two and they are awesome!!! :D  Gotta treat them with the care deserved of the price point (like any other good 3rd party item), but you are missing out on a lot if you've bought them and they're sitting there....unopened....

There are nitpicks and flaws to these guys, and a lot of people are just pointing out they're there (and some are fixing them!), but these guys really are pretty nifty.

Reindragon made my TFW morning here.

There was a review showing Downforce having a gap too. I'll bet thegreatscrotum mine will have it as well.

Yeah, David. I fixed mine too first and had to put back the annoying car flaw take pics then fix it again then take pics again. :lol

Yes, when it comes to car formers I'm just as nitpicky and notice the tiniest of flaws as well. if you decide to show the fix on the red gap and if the flaw does mess around with the combined mode, a lot of peeps here will be very thankful. but yes I wish I had the courage to do the pins.

The nice thing about the supposed "negativity" is that it helps those with issues fix theirs. I'm lucky that I don't have those said issue. So, I do hope that those that have them, get theirs figures fixed. :thumbs2:

and this is why i hate that when minor negative things are posted for figures that some people are experiencing that gives the idea to others that those figures are terrible when they really aren't for presumably most of us. if there could be more people posting that they don't have problems that would help but generally people don't feel the need to post that. and before this gets taken out of context, i said minor. any major concerns are certainly well worth the negativity they deserve, if recurring.
still enjoying and transforming df randomly. i'm happy! open them!!

Well not to rub it in anybodys face but my cc and tb were perfect thankfully. Super poseable and just all around good figures. Patiently awaiting my next two limbs.

I disagree. Just looking thru the thread one can see this is more than a minority. These are the first products I got from FP that had this many problems that needed fixes. Before these, if it was FP, I knew that I could buy it with no worries. Even the so-called FP fanatics complained of problems with the Stunticons as well. I have bought every FP product released except the Cliffjumper kit. FP is/was the #1 3rd party to me before I got these. The idea and design is excellent but the execution/quality is lacking to me.

Side note: SteelCore is FP's best figure period.

The figures are very good. For me, I just want to be in the safe side and know all the issues that the figures might come with. Just being sure I'm getting my money's worth out of these things and know I won't have much problems combining these to menasor ^^

    My goal as well.

I'm the type of guy who eats the plain crust first then enjoy all the flavours of the pizza toppings later.

My T-Bone and Downforce are both perfect. There are no gaps, and no cracks in plastic. My Not-Breakdown has one minor problem though. The pegs that hold the gun pieces in vehicle mode are WAY too big. I forced the top half of his gun in one of the pegs and it literally got stuck. It took me like a solid minute of pulling to get that thing off. Sadly, I stressed the tip of the barrel of his gun trying to get it off, so there's a slight stress mark there. Nothing too bad, but just thought I'd point it out. I guess I'm going to have to sand down those pegs.

My Down Force, Car Crash, and T-Bone are flawless. I love everything about them. The sculpts are amazing, the engineering is pure joy, the plastic quality is second to none, and the target audience is abundantly clear - 15+ (fan service in regards to homage to character is top notch). I am super careful with the transformations. I might add that the toys photograph so well. I admire the attention to detail placement. Shadows fall from places that accentuate the sculpt; showing mastery of the craft.

That said, as a collector, I am part of this vocal community. If there are issues with damaging the piece from play, they need to be addressed. It's about the FansProject implied mission statement through their motto For Fans By Fans. That idea should be at the core of why we support 3P's. We support them, because they support us. If there's a breakage due to misunderstood instruction - satisfy that vocal minority. After all, it's not like you're TFC and TFCC or anything. :D

Everything the King Of Ballbags ;)  said.

I have no QC issues with the first two, and cracked the windscreen slightly on Down Force via my own error (that said, the instructions are 'meh').

Enough people have had issues though, that it's hard not be swept up in that, and for a lot of people that's going to taint their own experience and at the same time warn others off.

But my overall opinion thus far is that they are wonderful figures.

So much character in bot mode, cool as fuck in vehicle mode.

They make perfect desktop toys and are great to fiddle with and pose. They are impressive figures in their own right, and would make worthy purchases even if you were not in for the full set.

Definitely a team where I'm going to be umming and aaahing over how they get displayed.
