Although, having put my money on Catilla, one aspect I'd not considered is that Grotusque would certainly "balance" the set - what with being somewhere between a cat and a bird!

Was it confirmed that the new member was always a sabre-toothed tiger or just that he is a Sabre-toothed tiger?

These guys come in under the "Reformatted" tagline, right? While, yes, the original members are updated versions of their former selves, who said the new member had to be too--after all he would need to be changed anyway to be part of this team as alternate (since there never was one).

That said, the character could be anybody...unless of course it was stated that the new member was always sabre-toothed tiger or a cat-like character from the beginning...

Its a valid point. My guess has been updated to Metroplex.

Going by function/duty alone, I'll throw my hat into the ring and go with one of these guys being the new member:
    • Scourge
    • Weirdwolf
    • Carnivac
    • Bomb-burst
    • Fangry

:lol  If it is a reformatted character it means a previously unknown alt mode. As its MMC, it means it will get a different name for copyright reasons. So, this homage suddenly is called something different and has a brand new form..... That kind of defeats the point of an homage, really. :D

Reformatted is the name of the line.

Otherwise Hexatron and all the Feral cons would all have new alt. modes.

Yes, sorry, I was referring to this....

The implication is that this character as a sabre-toothed tiger is a new alt mode for it, and the name would also have to be different too.

Reformatted is the name of this MMC line. Its their take on Transformer character before the great war. So think more of their vision of the G1 character and not so much tied to any of the WFC/FOC type cannon.

And regard to the 6th member, he was always a sabre toothed tiger alt mode.

I know you are in the know so I am not contesting you but, I would think reformatted falls in line with the Classics m.o. vs characters before the great war.

My reasons? Sixshot looks like an updated version of G1 with modern engineering (classics m.o.) and the Feralcons are earth beasts, once again being updated g1 looks with modern engineering.

Whatever their logic behind the reformatted line is, keep it up, I'm in for the long haul. (minus any off screen characters, cuts gotta be made somewhere)

Wow! I measured some of the bots I have out at the moment, and these guys are going to be taller than I expected.

Talon's confirmed at 7.25". That puts him a good inch (closer to inch + 1/8 or even 1/4) taller than classics Prime. He's a little taller still than Crane from Maketoys Giant, and almost 2 inches taller than the middle part of TFC Photron. Dang.

Near as I can tell, he'll be the size of Energon Landmine. That's a little bigger than I was imagining, but I'd much rather them be a tad bigger than smaller. Although, to be fair, I've never cared one lick for scale in TF toys. As long as the toys are cool, I have an imagination that can put them the "right" size in my head.

Is razorclaw going to be the last member released due to the changes?

Run for the hills, this is definitely the seventh sign: I agree with transbot.

We have no confirmation one way or the other, but that's a pretty safe bet. Once Bull is done, Rhino is just a minor remould and retool. Tiger is the same for Sabertooth, which leaves the Lion as the other stand-alone design, not to mention the lynchpin of the whole set. Saveing him for last lets them make every last tweak they can to ensure he interfaces with the others perfectly, since they can attach the production runs of those figures for fit and stability as they finish the design process.

We have two companies producing the same
Thing. While both of them looking cool I find myself paralyzed as I have not determined which company to buy from. I would have probably got either one but the competition has me holding out to see the reviews.

Does any one have any reason for pick one product over the other ?

So does that mean no other combiners like Menasor, Bruticus, Superion or Computron will be made since they were built after the war?
