Yeah, I wasn't trying to bag on anyone who does collect G1, just stating why I don't. I'm positive if I had enough disposable income, and the space to display them, I'd definitely have some G1 toys too. But as it stands, when faced with a choice between one or the other (G1/updated redesigns), I'll go with the the new articulated versions EVERY time.

If I wasn't a OG1er (my heart belongs to Beast Era) I doubt I too would choose G1 over Classics or MPs.

It's all a matter of personal opinion and I think G1 usually attracts kids of the 80's trying to get back some of that innocence.

As you can see, the manes in both modes have distinctively different outlines, as well as the lion mode's mane being much larger.

Thanks for pointing that out. But is the mane in Not-Razorclaw's bot mode the same as the mane on Not-Predaking's chest?

Its really hard to tell, but I would assume the bot mode uses the smaller mane and Predaking uses the larger mane. It'd be a waste to not use the larger one for combined mode.

MMC packs a lot of magic in their products. KMC has his transforming trailer and cannon to lance thing plus more. Cyclops has the minisub (nuff said). The Seeker had automorph, mechalive and the combining as a train gimmick. I have no doubt that Predaking will be chalk full of surprises and engineering extras such as the two manes thing. I am so eager to see what other surprises this thing is packing. And let us not forget that 6th thing that is not needed but will make things better.

kinda looks like the smaller mane is front of the larger one, like it has extra pieces that flip out to make it wider.

I think it'll just be another figure that forms more of a torso for predaking

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. Honestly is a great solution to avoid having an oversized mane in bot mode or an undersized mane in combined mode. I think I see the larger flaps folding into the shoulders, but I can't really make anything solid out.
