Things like this are ALWAYS being redesigned. Even after prototypes have been made (after-all protos are for testing designs). Until the factory gets the go-ahead on the production run nothing is set in stone. Protos get changed, test-shots get sent back for loose joints or inadequate pins or what have you. This is part of the reason Hex is taking so long. Molds don't get cut until late in the processes, and a small run in the low thousands only takes a week or so to cast after a test shot is approved.

No one's told me this for sure, but If Divebomb is up for pre-order I'll bet they're cutting the mold now. Since you want the head bigger, and holes can always be made larger, if they only need to remove more from the mold to make the head larger I'll bet they do it. But it's a lot harder (and more costly) to put steel back into a mold, so it may not be feasible.

Looks at Uranus... Silverbolt's been being altered quite a bit, even after the release of the first 2 figures. Not at all surprising... everything is still on the drawing board till it actually goes into production.

Don't mean to be a downer but of all the digibashes I've seen, and UT's, I like Jehsee's the least. Too many colors in too many places. Should be a bit simpler. Go with small details for color accents, not limb chunks.

i would elaborate on this by saying it was an excellent digibash, but highly unrealistic as far as how a product would look. outlines, shadows, ....and the multicolored/highlighted thighs?
yes, very bright and eye-catchy, but .....

Thanks for the insight Nano, I had no idea they can cut out a mould that quickly.

Yeah... it's the second time I tried coloring a B&W photo. It's just my personal skewed-interpretation of colors on top of a grayscale photograph. There's a lot to consider when messing around in Photoshop with colors and shades and lighting... I just happened to be bored at the time & excited about the project, yet didn't want to get TOO involved. The outline & shadow is perhaps too much and overly cheesy... I was just attempting to showcase the silhouette of the figure on a dark background as I find looking at dark figures on a white background to be a bit harsh on the eyes. Seriously appreciate the feedback though... I'll remember if I attempt another.

You're fine, and thanks for doing some digibashes... At least some of us are thankful. Other folks just don't know how to put out constructive criticism. :thumbs2:

I don't get the criticism. That paint job (I'm talking about the red one) is completely doable. It all depends on the mold plan, a project this size would need several molds. And each mold could have a separate color. Take for example the recently released colors for FP's Breakdown, I count at least 5 different plastic colors.

and at least 4-5 more in paint apps.

All they'ed have to do is put all the red parts on one mold, all the orange on another and so-on, then paint what can't be molded in color. I don't see how it's not possible, or even unlikely.

Jehsee--I would eliminate the grey and replace with black(biceps) or gold(bird feet). Also the wings need some more black. And an all-black helmet. The color in his face needs to be balanced by a "neutral" helmet. Yellow *and*orange on the head is too much.

I had actually attempted something VERY similar, but wasn't going to post it as I already posted too many variations already. But I thought this would be cool, just because it would make the bird-mode almost entirely black. Granted... it'd have chicken-feet. :(

I was thinking more like the base of the wings/hinges would still be orange, but "black feathers with gold accents". (Similar to how G1 was black feathers with gold stickers)

    Really liking the colors Jehsee

Personal preference was the red that you did up previously, but I like how the black breaks everything up.

You're making it really hard to pick a fave

Thanks! Don't really have to pick, I'm sure MMC already has it all figured out already anyway... I'm eager to see what they've come up with.

Loving those digibashes, Jehsee. Great work :D
This is the reason I come back to the "prototype threads" even when there are no news.

I liked the color scheme with the red shoulders the most, but the black one is cool too if the wing bases stayed orange like David Hingtgen said.

Some facts to clarify things and help avoid confusion. Please add to first post. Thanks.

Gestalt is 32cm tall from feet to head, excluding shoulders, backpack cannons etc...

All 5 figures will all be discounted 15%-20% for pre-orders

Pricing is based on the pack–in content and design of the figures: e.g. the leg members will have more parts, and Razorclaw is bigger.

Updated COMBINED mode picture incoming, hopefully this evening.

@CenoKibble WOOT WOOT psyched about everything there-the height, the pricing, not especially thrilled with the arms likely being the cheapest parts of him, so maybe not everything, but COMBINED MODE PHOTO makes it worth while! is the picture a real physical picture? or new render?
