Its due to Botcon doing it as the custom class fig (which was moulded in purple) and they picked it as alt shock and Jazz having the same basic tooling.

I know its crazy isn't it, one of the most obvious add ons and 3rd party could do, its a common toy that most people aren't satisfied with, really I even joined shapeway to try and make one myself but my 3D modling skills suck ass. Really it could be like a 2 part tool, a 4 part would give it all the articulation it would need.

Why? It's now harder to get an Energon Shockblast compared to an RTS Jazz. If you're a 3rd party, you'd rather sell to the masses.

Not really, 1) lot of people already have e shockblast, 2) e shockblast goes for around 20 to 30 on e bay which is not that much more than retail 3) To make the add on work you have to repaint a whole figure, it not an easy thing and there will be lot of paint chipping and rubbing so that will turn more people off this. Could also go with SG isn't as popular with people as G1 and this really isn't a g1 shockwave. In fact i'll bet an E shockblast that an add on kit to give it a new gun arm will sell far better than this set will.

RTS Jazz @ <$10 versus a $20-$30 figure... I'd rather stick it out with a Jazz figure... But, that's me. I wasn't into the Energon or Cybertron line.

That's if you can find it for $10 not everyone could find him at retail so, and the Energon one is simple just make a lower arm that attaches where the cannon goes it'd cost maybe $15 or so depending if a company decides to make one and if they'd add on anything else, Idc if Alt. Jazz and Shocky had a same mold, or that it's based off the Botcon tooling it still seems really stupid to do so when there is a more obvious thing to make, instead of copying a convention exclusive basically

Didn't read this thread until earlier I don't go to the 3rd party forums a lot, unless I'm looking for news of something awesome coming up

It goes two ways as well... Shockblast isn't found easily nowadays and wouldn't cost anything lesser that $40 or so... Fact is, we are even getting a Wheelie based on RTS Jazz... So, it'll still be cheaper.

This is a great idea for those willing to paint. I'm not a great customizer so I'll pass.

That mini laser gun looks *exactly* like the one from TFC's "Ghost of Screamer" upgrade kit. The only difference is that it's smaller such that it fits onto RTS Jazz.

Currently have FP Bruticus sporting that gun atm.

Also... I'm sure that once this kit comes out... you'll find somewhat regular eBay postings featuring painted up Shockwave/Longarm figures. Granted it might be a bit pricey for some, but it'll be an option if you aren't the painter/customizing type.

Well, I had to do it. I stopped in my local Khols and picked up a spare RTS Jazz, just so when this guy comes out I have a spare to convert!

Considering that myself, the extra body details should work out great with the Longarm appearance.

Yep. I have an advance copy of the longblast mod kit, waiting on a jazz to arrive to finish the custom, but it's a nice kit, molded in clear plastic. The head is in two parts, with the back/inner eye removable, so you can paint the head easily, and paint the eye bit with a clear paint, slide it in, and have some nice lightpiping! I don't have the sticker sheet, so I can;t speak to that, but we've seen preview pics of it.

I gotta say... for the mini Megs and Shockwave gun alone... 16$ is a pretty darn good deal. If one isn't interested in the other bits, I'm sure you can get someone to buy the customization fodder for a couple bucks...

Oh right, there's so many these days that I forget who's who.

So does this kit require painting then or is it only your kit since you have an advance copy? I may pass if painting is required as I don't have any radicon skills. To clarify, the parts are already painted correct? I understand creating a long blast from a Jazz will require painting.

The parts I have are clear. It looks like the arm gun in that BBTS photo is a clearish purple. Honestly, I'd prefer it that way. If the parts were molded in purple already trying to match it could be a pain, but if I'm painting the parts along with everything else it will all be the same purple.
