So awesome. Love the chunky TFC aesthetic, and if I wasn't already sold, I am now. That's a fine looking Autobot combiner. So what do you guys think the inevitable repaint will be? Sixwing colors?

They look like recycled robot skeletons to me. Recycled skeletons with different exoskeletons and weapons to make them look a bit more unique. I don't mind that so much myself, though Slingshot's cheekbones, could use a bit of a reduction.

Only thing concerning me is that those nose antennae on harrier and falcon look like they will break instantly. any hopes that TFC can get away with making those rubber or softer plastic?

Looks like it, more or less. At $50 a pop that's fine, but at $100 a pop it just doesn't feel like you're getting your money's worth to me. That's disappointing. At these prices there should be a bit more creativity put into it, I think.

But other than the Sunday Funnies face, Superion looks pretty good despite the disproportionately small torso.

 

Kibble's point is that he's going to buy it anyway...

Give one of these 3rd party guys time. SOMEONE will have a "G1" inspired chest as soon as they can get ahold of a Not-Silverbolt and fit it. You watch.

 

Maybe. I sold my Alternators collection and have the money set aside, but I'm not sold at this point. I won't pay what it costs to buy and ship as they're released, but if the colors come out good and a full set deal is available, it's not unlikely. I don't feel I have to have it at any cost, though.

 

These look amazing, but how big are they? large dlxs? Just curious. And as far as G1 is concerned were the Aerial Bots small or full sized like the Seekers?

 

The limb bots looks like voyager size. (maybe small voyager like Prime's voyagers)

 

Same size as Herc bots. Bigger than most deluxes, but smaller than most voyagers. A little shorter than Classics voyager Optimus.

G1 Aerial bots were smaller than the seekers. Silverbolt mighta been similar in size, but the limb-bots were all scout-ish size.

Something about the arms bothers me. They're too bulky. And I hate that he's taller than Hercules. So much for having a Superion that's even close to the same height as Colossus and Giant. (FP one is too small as much as this one is too large)

 

Very comprehensive and critical look at the toy. He gives fair credit when due but comes down hard on some of TFC's shortcomings, both at the macro as well as the micro levels. Good job.

 

Alt modes are far inferior to the first two. They're caricatures in comparison. Harrier is a Frankenstein of parts--a Sea Harrier nose with Harrier II wings and everything just looks off, worse than Phantom. (and there is NO reason to use the wrong nose). If they wanted a Sea Harrier nose like the original, just make the whole thing a Sea Harrier like the original. Why add on bits from a very different version?

Falcon however, is worse. It's like someone took a photo of an F-16 and hit the "wide fit/stretch" button on their TV. Plus it seems to have no intake which was the thing I most desired it to have but also feared it would be most likely to have missing. Best weaponry though.

Note how the pics are at such high angles for these two--they don't want people comparing to the real thing from the side etc as they suffer highly. Not as bad as Silverbolt though.

 

Oh, and I didn't even notice the individual bots were also posted. I was looking at the smaller image posted a few posts ahead.

I'm kind of disappointed Harrier is such an obvious remold of Phantom. Those shoulders bother me. I like Falcon a lot though. Still hoping for cartoon accurate heads of these guys in a later TFC kit or a "4th party" kit.

 

H.O.L.Y S.H.I.T. That looks fantastic. I love the fact they have sorted the big issue (IMHO) in Herc with the stumpy thighs. He looks perfect proportionally to me and I also love that he is slightly bigger.

Still waiting till all members are out tho.
