Superion should be fast, those 4 limps are almost similar to each other in terms of transformation and robot/plane mode.

Like Hercules, I initially was excited until i heard the price and each figure was $100 a pop. I'm gonna reserve judgement until the price comes out. Looks cool right now but if it's another $100 a figure, not sure if I will get one. Could pass on it like I passed on Hercules.

True. Hadn't thought about that. I do hope they get a little more creative than just that though

I think it's great that the name alone gives us a hint about the cost!

Yeah I agree. I hope they do something more interesting with the bot modes rather than the typical "alt mode is a robot lying down on its belly" syndrome like Universe Silverbolt.

Also I'm interested to see how they're going to do the gestalt feet. Devastator is easy because he always had built in feet. IDK how they could make it work and still make it look good for the Scramble City type stuff.

I don't guess there's any chance they'll be using HasTak's version of Silverbolt as the core. :(

Am I the only one wondering why this isn't merged into the main TFC Super Ion thread yet? It's a new (fuzzy) pic (plus the silhouettes we saw before), not deserving of its own thread.

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...-ion-3rd-party-information-botcon-2012-a.html

Or will this thread now become the main thread for Super Ion, seeing as the one linked to has gotten rather OT lately. (and of course, there's the third, poll thread for Super Ion debating what size he should be)

    PS:
It's Fireflight. (Unless they assigned G1 Fireflight's alt-mode and limb-position to Slingshot just to really mess with us).

So Superion is next to be released? What happened to the Starcats/Defensor and Dinobots?

I thought those were being released next seems we saw prototype pics almost a year ago?

They've released the PCC Iron Army figures now and they were shown around the same time as the other prototypes.

It's a bit late now perhaps but I agree with Peaugh's point here; my first constructive reaction to the naming was to think how appropriate Hermes/Mercury, the messenger of the gods, would have been.

King Poseidon was of course the name of Piranacon's counterpart - of sorts - in Super God Masterforce, so that or Neptune would be an apt project name if this was given the TFC treatment.

Similarly I thought of Project Apollo (god of wisdom, etc) for the Technobots. Despite the feminine connotations, Project Artemis - goddess of the hunt - for the Predacons and Ares/Mars for Bruticus. For the others, such as Menasor to name but one, would require delving a good deal deeper than the main pantheon, but that's enough for the purposes of toying with the concept.

Dear TFC, don't forget to add lube to Uranus. (Get it? Because Herc needed lube...)

I would've preferred Project Bangkok..... Anyways, what happened to Super Ion? I liked that named, it was genius!!!

I think it was just a temporary name. I mean, if 3rd party companies are trying (not that hard, really), to avoid explicit reference to Hasbro properties, choosing Super-Ion as a name is like poking the bear :D

Can't really think of one for Menasor, smallest combiner mades out of cars so would be quickest?.....best fit is Hermes but all I can think of is his execution scene in God of War 3 when you rip his legs off and batter him :lol

    my:2c:
seeing as the silhouette is an F4 Phantom am guessing its not-fireflight. Similarly it seems to be oriented in arm mode almost identical to how explorer is on FP Bruticus i.e. wings on uranus pointed forward on combiner's forearms, its waist joint used as the combiner's elbow joint and the combiner's shoulder connection point presumably in uranus' chest. The hand may be integrated like exgraver or 'integrated' like Neckbreaker.

Im definitely excited about this project. Hope lessons learned from Hercules carry forward.

Well, the Romans did steal the Greeks' pantheon.
