KO Carded Bumblebee (Never seen another like it)

All of the KO Carded Bumblebee's I have seen have had the G1 Toy Head and a Rub. This one has a Takara Anime Head and G1 Faction Symbol. (No Rub)

Now I know the first thing someone is going to say is that it's a TF Collection #12 Bumblebee that has been custom carded. I thought that at first but then I looked carefully at the back of his head (no small feat when it's MOC) and saw that there is no rub there either, it's the G1 Sticker that is supposed to be there (the TF #12 Bee had the Rub There, same with Encore Bee)

So anyone ever see another like this? Any KO Experts know the story behind it? I got it at Botcon 2011 in the dealer room.

Yes I have seen it before on ebay it comes in White and blue (Bugbite & Glyph) style too (still on a G1 style card). I stumbled across it when I was looking for a Botcon Bugbite some months back.

Add it to the list of running variations for the Zhong Jin counterfeits.

I recently saw this pre-rub style Bumblebee on eBay, Transformers G1 Bumblebee MOSC Series 2 Hasbro Original | eBay

Yours has the more familiar off-center peg hole. Does it also have the abbreviated copyright on back?

I think the one constant with all the KO bumblebees is the bubble being too far from the edge.

You'll have to find a different way to share the pic, like imageshack or photobucket. We can't see attachments to emails

Me bad. Here it is. It's Goldbug? But why is the autobot symbol not a rubsign?

European reissue from early 90s?

Around 1990. as Transformers wound down in the US, Hasbro Europe reissued some G1 toys in gold boxes.

Some of them had their rubsign indents removed and replaced with autobot stickers.

i can't find a picture of goldbug, but here's one of Freeway to give you a a rough idea.
