I wouldn't be surprised if they waited on the downside to see the engineering done to Hegemon, or other third party Megatrons being made atm. (Remember, iGear's not one to shy away from copying transformation schemes/tooling from other figures... though lately they're producing more original stuff.)

YES! I've been hoping for a 3rd party Galvatron. None to be seen so far though :(

Yeah. Ultimately, I had a chance to grab the Hegemon preorder when I just recently dropped a silly amount of cash at RobotKingdom, but I'm passing on this guy. Size does matter and Hegemon just doesn't measure up to my display needs.

The more I see of this the less I want it. I'm only buying 1 more Megatron and this is not it.
Ps: FU, MP Megs. Worst MP ever.

Classics Prime would still fit well with this... I'm pretty sure he's just a little taller than heavy labor.

To all those who are lamenting that this isn't MP size...do you really think that Takara isn't going to release a real MP Megatron 2.0? Of course they will, probably within a reasonable time frame at that.

Well, I just realized something... If people think that classics prime is going to be too short, this:

    Features this:

That'll make the size perfect :D

I really can't believe that people are having a hard time getting that this is clearly designed to be displayed withClassics Prime. Megatron has been portrayed as being about a head taller than Prime for like a decade now. This is so not a MP-scaled toy that I'm having trouble seeing why people are trying to judge it as such. Don't rag on the figure because it's a poor Masterpiece when it's so obviously not anything like a Masterpiece toy..

True, plus it's probably about the size of Classics Megatron:

Not that hard to understand that folks have differing views on what makes a good Megatron figure.

That's not the issue I'm remarking on at all. It's people decrying the figure for not living up to parameters that it is clearly not intended to meet. Toyworld is clearly not making a MP figure, but a quarter of the comments are about how disappointed people are with how short he is in comparison to their MP toys.

I think it's not so much that as that we've been waiting ages to get a Megatron figure that looks *like* this, and now that we have one it's too short for the displays we'd want it to be in.

In my case while I'm irked he is shorter than Faith Leader, my main issue is that his legs actually seem short and cause his whole body to be disproportionate as a result. A little more length in his thighs really could've gone a long way to offset that and make his lower legs seem less blocky.

he looks pretty decent to me. I would like to see how he looks across from the soon to be released MP Hasbro Prime in a pic

Then I think you missed the parts where people were also commenting that Hegemon's shins look too blocky and out of whack (they need his signature bell-bottoms curvature), resulting in an alt mode that leaves something to be desired. His stock looks odd too, not to mention the dark energon MJ potted plant of his sword. Or the weird plug that was added to his rear barrel.

It's not just about his size that folks are quibbling with.
