But maybe there shouldn't be real guns either?

And without even bothering to check the validity of this statement, I'm going to guess the Japanese have much less problems with gun crime than the the US.

We've actually had toy weapons for longer than we've had parents who fail to teach their kids not to attempt to assault cops with them, kids brought up dumb enough to try something like that, and cops stupid and vicious enough to shoot a child to possibly save their own skin. We, and I mean this as a nation, should probably just unclench; the stick will then fall out on its own.

As far as Japan and gun crime goes, they're more easily able to control the flow of guns in and out, so no, there's not as much gun crime as a country with enough guns for everyone   I'd say that a better model would be to look at a nation that is prolific with guns but doesn't freak out over them, like Canada.
If you're asking whether people suddenly stop murdering each other if you take their guns away, well then you might be an android or a space alien, or just unfamiliar with the entirety of human history prior to the fifteenth century. I'll summarize: no.

Yes, it's silly and stupid and unfortunate that we both feel the need to keep toy guns from our kids and that there is an unfortunate precedent in the last two decades of adults with no common sense raising and interacting with kids, but I don't feel like I (or anyone) should be forced to be handicapped by the mental and behavioral shortcomings of a select few. That's how society grinds to a halt.

NothingHead testify, my brotha! As a parent, I'll cosign on this completely. We played with toy guns in the 80s...and most of us turned out fines. It's all about not being lazy parents or relying on the government to keep the stupid people from being stupid. Social Darwinism is what it is..

No update yet. Obviously they didn't quite make June 5th, but for all I know the supplier meant it would be headed out of the factory then, so the actual "release" would be a few days later. I checked in and they said it would be very soon.

What, you don't give people stuff you know they won't want so they'll just give it back to you, too?

Its a shame but I'd rather wait for better quality anyways. Do what it takes to toyworld.
