i was told it basically was the finished product, it was hefty and all the joints that i moved (mostly his arms cause i was afraid to damage such a piece that wasn't mine) were nice and solid

Awesome. I'm so excited for this guy. Seeing the new pictures of Screamer only confirms its bad ass level. Hopefully RK will get theirs in first so I can get mine quickly.

 

He's apparently the editor of the TFCC magazine.

Had that been me I would have said "Bet you wish Hasblo could make something as awesome as Cyclops"  

It's encouraging to hear how good Cyclops is shaping up to be as I'm very intrested in getting it but was slightly concerned after reading about the QC with Knight Morpher.

 

I don't even think of it as a magazine. Its really a short comic with some crap youve known about for a month already if you read the boards.

 

To be honest I've never read it and from what you've said it doesn't sound like I'm missing much  

I think it's funny that a guy connected with Hasbro reacted like that when he saw someone enjoying a 3rd party product.

Maybe if Hasbro had made their FOC Shockwave a decent scale instead of a crappy Deluxe there wouldn't be people looking for an alternative like Cyclops.

 

Good to hear that it's solid. Although I must ask about how it looks, especially colorwise. Any metallic tones on it? I display a lot of my higher-class Transformers, so I wanna know how it looks displayed with lights on it & whatnot.

 

You know why funpub REALLY hates 3rd party stuff? It kills some of their future repaint potential. Who wants an expensive crap repaint when they can have a whole new mold for around the same price?

It's all about the money with them, and I don't believe for a second that they didn't push Hasbro to ban it from the con. Now that they have to think up that many more repaints with their BS subscription thing 3rd party threatens to take money from their pockets even more.

True, I didn't think of that. I guess they feel that if anybody is going to rip off IP it's going to be them or nobody.

As far as the Collector Club goes, I looked into joining once but the shipping on their figures was what put me off and in all honesty the only Exclusives I've been vaguely intrested in are Runabout and Runamuck but the way the 3rd party scene is right now I'd sooner hang on and see if someone makes a set with their original G1 alt modes.

I thought that as well... until I saw pics of the "alternate" transformation. I would have joined the club had they advertised that.  

In fact, it was Deak's (Nickbot here on TFW) pics on the Sideshow Freaks "All Things Transformers" thread that sold me.
