TFSource has it for $80 with a June release date.

Something screwy happened with Sidecutter, he is never more than TFS and BBTS and definitely not by $25.

 

Will he adjust his price? I am not believing he is more than the other sites.

Sidecutter's had this on his site for months - I'm sure he charged the price he was quoted at the time from Maketoys. They probably revised the estimate now that all of the factory negotiations and preproduction are complete, and quoted a different price to the other vendors, who only now actually added the preorders.

Give the man a chance to decide what he's going to do and make a response before you get all outraged over a $25 difference when CP has consistently had lower prices than the others and has had some damned fine customer service. When has Sidecutter not taken care of his customers?

 

I just wonder if CP snagged up there entire first run.. and TFSource and BBTS are getting 2nd runs.. and when BBTS came in below him on carcrash he refunded the dif.. though that was 2 bucks.. this might be more than he can swing

Yeah I'm not freaking out about the price difference. Whatever it is, Sidecutter will explain what's going on, I'm not worried.

That aside...this has been such a weird path this thing has taken, and is taking, on its way to release.

 

Oh, I'm not mad at anyone, it's part of the game I guess. Sometimes it works in your favor and other times it does not. This is the first time I am doing business with CP and I am not mad at CP in the slightest. Though I would have thought that TFsource would have been a little more on their game with this one. I would have thought that they would have released something a while back that they could have this up for preorder, but if this is in fact a second run, then that makes sense too. I was just venting, you know, everyone wants to save a buck here and there and that is one of the reasons I shop with TFSource because of the discounted shipping with orders over $150. Also, if demand goes up, sometimes the price does too.

Here is the email I received from TFSource
"Thank you for the inquiry.

I am unaware if we will be carrying the Make Toys’ Paladin at this time.

If we *do* make this figure available for sale, I would believe that Curt would announce our carrying of the item via the TFsource newsletter, Facebook; or one of the other sources linked to in my signature below."

So I guess I need to take back my previous statement by saying that they were not going to carry it, just not at that time. Still, I will continue to buy from them and if CP is as good as everyone says they are I will continue with them as well.

 

That would be because MakeToys wasn't getting back in touch with TFSource until over the weekend.

I emailed TFSource myself last week asking about this, since CP had theirs sold out. Jeremy emailed me back yesterday afternoon saying it didn't look like they would be carrying the item, mostly because MakeToys hasn't responded to their inquiries about it.

Half a hour later, I get a email back from Jeremy saying he just got told Maketoys got back in touch with them, and they would be getting their hands on Paladin Chaos.

So it loooks like communications were a bit muddled between Vendor and Retailer there.

 

so been delayed until june/july now! was hoping this would be on its way in a couple of weeks   , bet we get to june or july and its delayed again until august/september ffs

 

Hold on... Let's see what CP does. I'm sure CP would issue the difference.  

 

I'm sure he will. He's good like that. I think he has a day job so he may not have had a chance to address this yet. I'd be surprised if the difference wasn't refunded to everyone by the end of the weekend.

 

Yeah man, we just have to wait for Sidecutter to get home from work. I'm absolutely positive he'll be able to sort all this out. He's good like that.

 

This keeps getting delayed again and again isn't it? Is MT trying to take a page from the old FP communication play book?

 

So, how do I cancel with CP? email? I understand supporting the little guy, but think of how easy it is to cancel with the usual suspects. A one man operation is kinda antiquated when you compare the service of a full time show.

 

You send CP and email the same way you do with TFSource if you do not stack. Oh and unlike TFsource he will not threaten to cut you off for cancelling.

Do you shop CP or are you just out to slander something you know nothing about because your statement is completely wrong.

About the $80 price, has anyone stopped to think that perhaps the price drop is a completely new thing negotiated by MT so that more than CP carries this item?

CP has never been one to price gouge even when he was the sole carrier of the ultra popular Quakewave, he isn't about to start now.


On topic. I wasn't going to buy this guy but then I was reminded how HUGE he is. Then the $105 price still held me off from buying. Now he is $80 :O....sold. Just waiting to see if CP offers any at the $80 price cuz he is currently sold out. I can wait for Sidecutter, the cs he provides is worth the patience.

 

Don't jump ship on Sidecutter just yet. I'm betting he will do refunds for the difference since the pricing he was basing it on has changed, and he may also get these in earlier than the stores just getting the go-ahead. This especially considering that preorders at CP are closed (guessing he had a number he was allotted) so he may be getting the bulk of the first run.

 

I've already emailed him to ask if there is something we can do.

 

Poor Sidecutter... I'm sticking with him, there is no reason to think he won't take care of this.
