I can almost feel the price drops on UM if this thing really does fit in the CC armor.

I've been saying for the longest time that Fansproject should make figures that are backwards compatible to their armor upgrades.

I cannot fathom how the CC armor would fit on the bot mode of this figure. What am I missing?

I proposed an alternate theory in a thread on Seibertron, allow me to restate it with some visual aids:

    Similarities:
    - colours match
    - both have a cockpit
    - the three pipes on the same spot in vehicle mode
    - heck, the general shape of the vehicle matches
    - the general proportions of the robot mode match (particularly the arms, legs, and the narrow waist)
    - the front "bumper/grill" of the vehicle matches
    - the robot modes both have a fake G1 Prime-style abdomen-grill

Here are the dissimilarities I see:
    - Heartmaster mini figure
    - Shoulder missiles

I think it may be a War Within style Ultra Magnus, admittedly with some nods to the Energon Ultra Magnus (i.e. the shoulder missiles and small figure in the chest)

I didn't think the legs would fit either. If you look at the legs of Heartmaster and the leg armor for CC you can get a good picture of how it fits in there. This is still all speculation and we could still be very wrong. The pieces just keep coming together though.

Honestly i'm not even sure how Heartmaster is supposed to fit with the CityCmdr armour. Some proportions are about the same but it would hardly fit i'm reasonably sure.

I've seen and played with the Heartmaster figure last year and i can honestly say it's got wicked articulation and you can do all sorts of poses. The shoulder missiles look pretty cool too. And best of all the mini-figure can sit in the altmode. It's definitely an awesome figure.

Personally i think this is FansProject's own project, kind of a "what-if" project. What if you made Powermasters in this way or BreastForce in this way. You got to admit Heartmaster is both BReastForce and PowerMasters combined. If you'll recall Breastforce had animals transform into the chest armour of the bots and at least in some instances Powermasters when transformed fit onto the chest of the bot (in some instances not like Getaway and Joyride)

I can't wait for this figure, it's been a long time coming.

The more I look at the pictures the more I don't see the CC armor working with the bot mode. I can definitely see the hitch and how it can connect, but I think that's where the collaboration ends. I'll think about it some more though.

Evem the hitch wouldn't work because it sits to deep for the trailer to be able to latch onto it, even though it looks to be the right size.

I think this can really go both ways, I would prefer they make a new trailer add on set for this guy that would work even better because its built to. Only time will tell.

Without me reading the entire thread, I'll be that guy and ask: do we know a rumored release date? Price?

FP is pretty good with their estimates too, so I'll be expecting this out this year. Okay cool, thank you.

There's a color proto, usually meaning that the figure is done. My guess it's in full production and we'll see the figure soon.

Well, other than their hyper-optimistic "schedule" posted early last year that said Heartmaster, Crossfire-03, and Warbot-02 were all due by the end of 2011...

And the fact that the Insecticons all slipped a month, to boot...

The thing nobody gives FP credit for is when you see a colored prototype its going to come out soon. I'd say at worse we see this figure roll out within 3 months, hopefully sooner.
