The sad thing...I could see it actually costing MORE in some lame 'limited edition' fashion.

 

I think Hercules is all kinds of awesome, but SG colors do nothing to make me want to go round 2 with these guys.

 

This. If it was at a greatly reduced price compared the the first release, I think I would. But for full price, not a chance. I don't like the SG color scheme any more than the G1 colors.

 

I'd definitely get it if either Giant or Hercules did these colors, as long as it's not a set, I'd have to buy one figure at a time.

Remember, that G1 and SG colors are the only colors that the Constructicons have ever appeared in fiction. G2 is nice, but they have never BEEN those colors in any story.

 

Maybe 200-250 ish?

That would make me have a hard think about it. But most likely not.

There are only four or so possible color schemes.

G1 Green
G2 Yellow
Dialcone Multicolored
SG Red and White.

And Green is the most sought after, making recolors of it a dicey proposition. Of them,,, well I guess with Giant available in yellow now, SG might be the next most popular?

Though white and red would make it easy to do dye jobs.

 

SG Herc? No.

 

I would but hopefully they'll hold hold off on it for a while. I just finished Herc and now I'm starting on giant. There are other things I would like to get.

 

Other options include G2 orange, the G1 yellow European release variant, the unreleased Diaclone release, the "Mister Hardhat" edition, a repaint as six Autobots (Scoop, Landfill, Quickmix, Hauler, etc), a movie color edition, and of course the standard black recolor.

Nuh uh, too much for a repaint. Still waiting for my last 2 figs to complete , adore and decide if it was all worth it much less do it all over again.

It'd have to be half the cost of Hercules. I just could not justify another $500+ investment.

 

I think the only way this Sg set has a chance of selling is if it comes in at $200. They do that and they tip off that they sold Herc at a huge mark up and lose fans.

Best bet is just drop the repaint and release a cheaper boxset to entice more sales. I bet there are more people who want a second set of Green Herc over SG Herc.

 

you are absoultely correct Transbot....for a decent price, $400-$500, i'd pick up a GREEN boxset to leave unmolested...

but again, i wouldn't waste $100 on this SG repaint, no matter how neat it looks...

 

I don't have the funding, interest or space for another Hercules.

 

While that does look very nice, I don't need doubles (Giant excluded of course ). What I want is someone (preferably an Autobot) to pose next to Hercules.

 

I love the SG Devvy scheme but they'd have to reassure me that no joints are going to go bad before I'd go anywhere near one.

Hell no. Bad enough the OTFCC is obsessed with Shattered Glass, the 3rd party companies don't need to be getting into that crap as well.
