I don't know why black polished isn't an option, frankly. They've been doing polished versions of other colours for a while now!

I'm also interested in getting these Shapeways claws for my soon-to-be Whirl, but shipping is very expensive. I think I'll try to see how well DOTM Deluxe Topspin's mechtech weapon works, first. Worst case, I'll rip out his claws and kit-bash something for Whirl.

I was thinking about getting them in royal blue strong and flexible polished and painting only the claw parts black.
Just finished prepping my vortex for the upgrade and it could use a little more blue.

He definitely does. I hope Reprolabels comes to the rescue. Just covering the purple areas with blue stickers would improve it a lot.

Yep, gotta find a way to get rid of those purple parts.

This is what I am going to use for my Whirl. Costs much less than getting that Shapeways set, and comes with extra weapons and decent-looking toy car to boot.



I removed the spring and inserted rubber pieces to keep the claws in plays. Works very well. Still waiting for Vortex to be shipped from RK with the HR Drone set, though.

Is there only one Drone set, or different colours for Tomahawk and Vortex?

Only one set, so if you're using the set with Vortex (as I'm going to do), you'll have a Whirl with a dark grey head.
