Price would be better if it wasn't ~20 bucks shipping from RK . . . hmmmm.

lol, I wonder when people will stop being ignorant about what constitutes "ip"? So unbelievably fucking stupid. Of course I guess segregating the forums doesn't keep the undesirables out either.

The rebound girl I dated immediately after my divorce liked being called that during "happy time". I didn't get the look of death, I saw her "oh" face.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Lower production runs equal higher costs. Most 3rd parties run on minimal profits. The KO's come out cheaper because they cut corners in production quality. Ever heard the old saying "You get what you pay for"?

it could be that they cut corners to cut cost. But it could be that the ko company are able to offer the lower cost because they don't need to add research and development cost on top of production cost. These figures take time and effort to develope. Guys need compensation for that or else its not worth the time. Ko battle tanker at $39 vs $102 for original. Cutting corners can drop the cost by that much? Doubt it.

Very true. Either way, it's not a case of price gouging as the guy I quoted seemed to imply.

yeah. I also think that some of the QC issues with KOs are not only due to using cheaper materials but also that the KOs don't have the original mold but rather have to make molds from an original figure they bought. This would change the measurements and even a mm or 2 change can drastically affect how the pieces fit together.

I didn't use the term price gouging. In marketing, it's all about setting acceptable margins. If consumers aren't willing to purchase goods at one's acceptable margin, then it's time to either lower the acceptable margin, gain cost efficiencies in order to preserve the acceptable margin at a lower price, or get out of the business.

If I compare FP pricing with MT and TFC pricing, I would say that FP has lower margins.

You sure about those numbers there? I think the FP insecticons would have higher margins.

I also find a bit strange that the Warbot Defender second run is that expensive.

But unless you have some inside info, you really don't know what their margins are. Your post is pure speculation. They may already be using the lowest margins with the most efficient manufacturing process.

It will be interesting to hear how QC is. The arms shouldn't be a problem since their on c clips, its the feet that have me worried. One question though, did they gut the electronics since its a KO?

Same, I hate electronic gimmicks ever since I was little. Used to make fun of PR Dragonzord for having seizure lights lol.
