Anybody else getting a younger Batman TAS Gordon vibe from this? Change the hair a little, and it'd pretty much be a perfect match.

Definitely. Pre-commissioner Jim Gordon. Almost looks like an amalgamation of both the animated version and Gary Oldman's take.

    Considering they're all hand made...

I personally think it's awesome. Simple or not, when was the last time G.B. Blackrock got any kind of attention outside of his name being a sponsor decal on a racecar?

if DairyCon exclusives weren't so pricey, i'd order this and touch up his hair/mustache to add him to my BTAS collection in a heartbeat.
it's better than the undersized one from DCUC that i have...

RedAlert Rescue: I think you may well be right there... Though considering that the Dairycon figures are high-end customs, I think they pulled off a pretty nice job with the repaint. I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve for the other exclusives...
Considering the other staffers are also pretty big Batman fans, my first thought at seeing the figure was "Gordon?"... But then again, most people thought Pretender Convoy looked like Burt Reynolds... :)
(Note: While I am on the Dairycon staff, I have little/no involvement in regards to the Exclusives. I get the images, bio, or news a short time before I to rewrite & reveal them to the masses! I may well have some bias to like the figures, but I honestly haven't seen an exclusive that I haven't liked...)

Dairycon exlusives for the most part arent too pricey. The Lucky Limited releases do, but thats to be expected for something that only has 5 to 10 made

And yet its a great representation of a prominent character who never received a figure before this...

I think its a great release on the part of Dairycon.

Yeah, Dairycon has been in late April for over 10 years. Cant help it other larger conventions vary year to year when and where they will be. ;)

Yep... that's absolutely a Commisioner Gordon figure, with re-coloured hair. It's rather remarkable how much it DOESN'T work for GB Blackrock, who was basically Tony Stark with glasses.

I mean, seriously... if they were going to knock off an existing action figure, they should have gone with a Clark Kent and painted a thin little pencil moustache on him. :rolleyes2

Great for Dairycon, yes. But since this is a strictly unofficial figure, I'd have to say that either this prominent character still hasn't ever received a figure, or this one and others like it should count, as well.

That said, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that, when I saw the Gordon figure at the toy store the other day, I thought about whether or not it might make a good Blackrock custom. I'm actually surprised at how poorly it works. I'd have thought that a figure in a tie with glasses would be fairly easy, but I guess I'm wrong. I doubt that this is any failing on the part of Dairycon, and more that my original assumption was simply too optimistic.

besides Sparkplug, he's pretty much the only adult who was smart enough to side with the Autobots. I'm looking at you, Swofford!!!

Heh, actually, in the comic continuity, Sparkplug wasn't especially fond of the Autobots....
