Have to agree with the "design it after a character" approach.

Keeping in mind that the Stunticons are performers.

And also, I assume that it would have some sort of chin, and it would have to believably be able to wield a sword going off the headsculpt.

I love the upper left one. Reminds me of The Undertaker, which kinda plays into The Motor Master's bad guy wrestler persona.

 

I think the Top right one, with the bottom right's smokestacks is pretty damn cool. I'll be sure to send them an email letting them know my opinon.

The TCC just posted a Marcelo Matere doodle on their Twitter feed of a possible Menasor head design.

Needless to say, it's got my vote.

Looks like they deleted the pic. Maybe to avoid G1Uppers basing theirs on it?

And I have to agree, these heads don't really match the Animated style. But maybe they could come up with a quick contest. Have fanartists design a head, then let people vote on which is best.

EDIT: I hope they are not having any troubles with the body though. It'd suck if that won't have the animated style, when the components do. It'd stand out like a sore thumb.

I'm sure it blows G1uppers' design away. They don't even look like TFA designs. When I saw those six, I lost all hope of them getting the aesthetic right.

As for approach, Menasor's iconic features are the crest and sword. Samurai? Medieval knight?

 

Which is why I suggested a Sentinel Magnus effigy, given he has a sword.

Plus then they're openly mocking the Autobots. Which seems IC.

That sounds like an appropriate Animated origin story. The gang busts out of Trypticon, encounters a stash of Forestonite which transforms them into the behemoth Menasor, and while rampaging, defaces the Sentinel statue and steals its crown. Takes care of the smokestacks, too!

At some later point it gets repainted and remodelled to more closely resemble the G1 head.

 

WOW! ok See now THAT I'd buy. But I still like my tweak.

EDIT: NOPE! as much as I like my Tweak, the twitter one is MUCH better.
