I don't think Giant is quite ready for production. It will probably be months before we see more stuff - those were the grey resin prototypes.

First they need to fabricate the molds if they haven't already, then there's test shots, figuring out the paint apps/deco, and the production run proper. I'll be VERY surprised if Giant makes it out this year - I'm guessing either Q1/Q2 2012 at the earliest.

Case in point, we were first seeing Exgraver test samples a year ago. He's only coming out now.

That's a great pic. Still VERY happy with my choice to stick with TFC. Maketoys' version still looks amazing but I want my Devastator and Constructicons bigger :)

Well I'm happy I've order TFC, to me it just a better combiner with no extra parts, Maketoys clearly has left over parts and even if they are in some way useful they are still not really part of the lone con's which just seems like cheating to me. Scale is also better, no way were Hook and the others smaller than well even bumblebee.

My only really worrie is Omega Supreme, I am hoping to hell one of the other 3rd party companys makes a good one and I get the feeling that for the cost of it it'll be closer to maketoy's devi size than TFC's which for me would suck.

You didnt miss the price on "Giant", as far as I know there isnt one just yet. Its an assumed price but Im thinking 50-60 bucks a piece. They have to stay competitive or theyd lose out on a bigger product that theyre going up against. I believe they will stay competitive and release it individually and as a set. Im guessing at the 350-400 dollar price point. Its all just speculation but it is based off rational business sense and not just "I want it cheepsies" mentality". TF Source has grown into a pretty solid lil company over the years and Im sure that they will make a good decision economically. I seriously doubt theyll shoot themselves in the foot over this. Hell maybe theyll even sell it for a combined price of 300 flat. Wishful thinking but it would definitely garner a more broad market in my opinion.

I think it looks pretty large. Once you fold out the treads/forearm & hand, you've got an arm that's roughly the length of Rodimus' car mode, right? I'm impressed by the lack of separate combiner kibble, although I wonder what the Giant's kibble is going to do.

I think these guys look like they're worth it if you can afford it assuming the actual product turns out well. Unfortunately, I really can't afford it so it's not worth buying any toy that I'm going to stress out about after I hit the "buy" button.

In an ideal world, I'd love to get both Devys since I love what I'm seeing from both so far. It would be fun to compare all of the different design choices that went into these things.

Munitioner and Explorer were 60 bucks each. Six similar bots should come to just under 400 if it takes a bit more engineering for a six bot combiner.

I dont have that Rodimus so the scale pic helps zilch. Why dont they simply show it next to a G1 version??

Looks awesome though. The job search continues

    Okay,

Dont know if anyone has said this, But if you order from robot kingdom its only $ 93.77 shipped, and from TFSource its $107.27...

I was reading the policy at TFSource and it says i cant cancell my order. Is this true?
Id rather order from Robotkingdom. Shoot 10 bucks is 10 bucks especially since i have 5 things on preorder! lol

Actually, for a large deluxe/small voyager 3rd party product this is a very good price. 3rd party products cost more as they can't buy in as much bulk as Hasbro, nor put out as much as Hasbro-which results in the steeper prices to cover costs.
This cost-to-selling ratio obviously goes up as the quality of the plastics and complexity of the mold goes up.
While I do hope the prices eventually go down, I do doubt that we'll see the final group of 5-6 for 70 all together^^ (though I would likely snatch up a second set were I to see so)
    ...
Also, apologies but... I'm not sure I understand the connection between your emoticon and your links?

These figures will NEVER be for 5 for $70. Not to be mean, but thats a pipe dream and totally not realistic. You will have missed out by then. Not to mention when these sell out the value is going to skyrocket.

I ordered mine from robot kingdom, but I've ordered from pretty much everyone @ one time or another & never had a problem. but yes, that is Tf source's policy.

I hear a lot of folks talking about how people who don't pre-order now are going to miss out, and how prices for this set are only going to go up... but what do you guys think about the possibility of TFC doing re-releases or repaints down the road? It seems like a logical approach. Hasbro's been doing it for years, and now Igear and FansProject are following suit with repaints for some of their stuff.

Is it unrealistic to bide our time and hope for a second edition of these figures once the dust clears?

Sorry to hear it dude... it's no fun. Mine was partially covered, but I didn't get a crown yet because I have ZERO coverage for that until I go back to school, and that's where the real expense is. Plus, I needed 2 fillings and 2 wisdom teeth pulled. It adds up. Bad stuff happens when you don't go to a dentist for 4 years. Who knew?

Haha! You're going to score a Vive le Quebec price rebate on airfare? Score. I think we're going to have to start calling that a Buwahi from now on... I don't seem to be able to get the deals like you do! ;)

    Mad Blender FTW!
I knew we'd have to wait the longest for the most awesome Constructicon!!
Can't wait to see what kind of master at mixing he is.

I never meant if people don't preorder..... I mean if people are unrealisticly expecting to get these for $5 each. My experience with 3rd party items says no. But when they sell out, they sell out.

I'm sure that would've made the Front Page, probably not long after posting.

For a circumstance like this, other companies who have no-cancel policies SEEM to be allowing cancellations, so you'd probably have to E-mail & explain the situation & see what they say. Worst case senario, you agree to just switch the payment over to Giant.

They'd be idiots not to release a box set & repaints. I'm sure there'll be a Tonka Yellow/ realistic [vehicle] colors release at some point.

Hasbro releases repaints to get MORE money from a mold, I'm sure 3rd Parties (some already have started) will be doing it more to recoup costs & make a larger marginal profit.
