hey, is there an oversized hftd terradive anywhere?

 

Thinking of getting a spare KO Raiden because he's so fun. I know the one in the first (left) image has gotten generally favorable reviews. I certainly enjoy him.

Does anyone have any opinions on the one in the second photo? It seems to be a little easier to find currently, but it looks a little more KO-y, for lack of a better word, in terms of its construction. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have that other one. I can't comment on how comparable it is to the first one, or the original... it's pretty typical shoddy Chinatown KO material, but at the same time, it all fits together, and doesn't appear to be simplified from what I can tell. There seems to be some mild deformation on the leg fins/guns, like the gun barrel isn't quite straight, but otherwise the details are reasonably crisp. Raiden's face looks good, and when everything is assembled, I can pick the toy up and move it around without it completely going to pieces.

It's still junk, but it still displays alright. Not the worst KO I've bought.

Thanks! It sounds like the one you have may be slightly less quality than the one on the right, but still decent. As a spare, I think that might work. Sounds like maybe on par with the red Defensor, Superion, and Menusaur/Computron combo that came in similar bubble/board packs. Do you have any of those to contrast with your Raiden?

Nope, I don't have any of those guys. I do have the undersized Landcross KO set. Landcross feels crisper and tighter and tougher than Raiden, but it's also a lot simpler.

How can I say this...? I think the overall quality is very low, but at the same time, there's nothing really wrong with it. I think the plastic quality is pretty terrible (it has that sort of matte surface, and it feels like the molding is a little 'soft' in places) but it hasn't broken yet and it still does the job. Everything is in the right place and still fits together.
