I'd include that pretenders is an even more ridiculous extension of the already ridiculous premise of G1. I'm not defending shrinking Robot guns or massive fleshy outer shells dude. Not in the slightest.
I didn't when I was a kid in 87 (I had Pretender Jazz and he was a shite 2nd rate version of the original Jazz) and I'm not now.
Didn't like pretenders any more than I liked the other gimmicks that came out after the Head / Targetmaster phase.
Compare your comment about Ratbat to the plots and story lines that went with pretenders and Ratbat's story doesn't look that ridiculous.
As for robots in disguise, G1 Sideswipe would have stood out in a crowd back then.... Lambos weren't exactly common.
A lot of the G1 vehicles had their insignias / logos on them too - kinda rendered the disguise bit useless imo

 

yep Paul told me MB Warbo Onslaught looked like it was going to slip into September. I got tired of waiting (my on hold orders have been in there for months). knowing my luck, it'll end up coming available to order a few days after Paul ships my order ><. I figure I'll probably find a few more to add to the list after he comes out anyways.

I just heard that the next wave of oversized Machine Boys Legends will include oversized DX9 Legends too. I saw the prototype for an oversized Tyrant/Galvatron!

 

Doe anyone have this Grimlock KO and can comment on its quality, good and bad points in terms of the build quality etc, I already have both deluxe and leader version, just like this variant.

As for the pieces that came with the onslaughts, you can see them in the pics... Grey g1 had a helmet, that's it - simplified green/yellow/red came with fists, helmet, chest shield, large rifle, and feet... Plus a missle rack and radar dish. The chest shields clip in just like the originals, I will try them later just for that.

I'll snap a pic of the parts for you soon... Buuuut...

If you are going tfc iron army, I suggest getting the wst ko simplified bruticus... Very slight modding is needed for those combiner pieces to work, and they scale better with a pcc combiner.

 

Still no Cosmos...

Got my undersized CW Megatron in today. For the price, this guy is pretty awesome. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with him yet, but he's fun nonetheless.
