I wish there was more chug stuff too, but Masterpiece seems to have taken center stage

This is the reason I've nearly stopped buying third party toys. Almost everything is MP focused now.

I wish for a CHUG 3P company to mimic the aesthetics of the CHUG figures they're making complimentary figures for. And, where are some CHUG fembots like Botanica, Firestar, Moonracer, Override, etc. ?

Follow the money. What the chug are they supposed to do that hasn't been done already? Make some random-ass figure that will sell a few hundred copies at full price and have the other 1000 and change go on clearance? But maybe everyone doing the same MP characters will backfire on them, too. Seemed that's what 3rd Party was doing for Classics, if not the same characters at the same time, redoing figures that had already been done, before that style died off.

Same reason why even Funpub and Hasbro are reluctant to do them: they are too obscure and there is no guarantee people will buy them. There is plenty of guarantee that people will buy Seekers, Prime and Grimlock and Ironhide.

    it's dead jim....

Nah, Maketoys just releasing a new line starting with Optimus Prime. Very cool stuff.

Then you have Mastermind Creations with their Reformatted line, very good stuff.

There is Fansproject too, but they are extremely slow and not what they used to be.

But yeah, everyone doing MP now, even MT and MMC...

There is a shit ton of large CHUG figures available. And if deluxe/mini-me's are more your thing, MT/FP has you covered in the combiner department.

HasTak, TFC, MMC, TFM/Warbotron/GT has you covered.

    Clonedroid

    Iron Factory
Keith's Fantasy Club (I count the cassettes as fitting both MP and CHUG)
Machine Boy Toys (and all it's variants)
    Maketoys
    Mastermind Creation
    Perfect Effect
    Planet X
    TFC Toys
    X2 Toys
    Zhan Jiang

I completely understand the companies have to follow the trends, but its funny since only two or MAYBE three companies actually make products on par with MP level design and construction quality. I'm disappointed in it myself but whatever. It saves me a shitload of money I'd have spent before on more Classics-oriented stuff. I still have MMC Reformatted and that's all I need.

Bahahaha. I wish there was a "like" button for this.

What is "MP" anyway? Good constuction? Paint?

You could argue all of MMC's reformatted stuff is MP. Hell, some of their stuff is BETTER than some "MP" stuff. Not even going to mention names because it'll stir the pot. But let's just say there have been some releases (especially semi recently) who shown themselves to be "MP" but are of lower quality than HasTak's Walmart toys.

Same. But, to be honest, being forced into Classics retirement was a blessing. It's nice to sit back and enjoy the collection as a static and encapsulated portion of my life. Each piece, Hasbro, Takara, FansProject, MakeToys, MMC... they work so well together, and I've got plenty of space to showcase them.

The question of the OP, where's the 3P classics? Dude, they're on my shelf. My collection is complete.

All I can say is, "The party was epic."

Agreed. I don't buy any of the Masterpiece alikes. Except for MMC's. But I buy everything they do.

but I used to have like six or seven pages of things I want that were third party on the first page of the sub-forum. Now it's maybe one. :)

CHUG production has not really slowed down at all, it's that the majority of the increase of 3P production this year has been MP. We have seen 3-4 third-party CHUG figures released a month this year. How many do we need?
