I love it and I love the smaller fusion cannon. Too often it looks oversized on Megatron figures, this looks a lot neater.

Think it may have swung me over from Maketoys

 

I was considering the MT version, but dx9 has easily won me over with these pics. Plus I'm a big fan of their stuff, owning carry, tyrant, and gewalt. All having exceeded my expectactions in hand and having zero qc issues.

Urgh, I take back my previous optimism, thing is kinda super ugly. Man and Carry and Gewalt were so damn pretty too.  

 

As I look over him again, it's really just the boots that are throwing the whole thing off. Well, and maybe that the waist armour looks a tad big on him (Apollyon "diaper" 2.0...). But those squared off boots, with the ugly exposed pegs (and the resultant squared-off gun handle) just utterly destroy any of the good impressions that I have from this.

I kinda thought we were getting past the whole "3P can't design anything without straight edges and right angles" phase of design (heck, even TFC is evolving), but then you get this (and ToyWorld's "MP"-style messes, and occasionally some of FansToys' offerings) to prove me wrong.

 

Just realized it's looks like DX9 have done interchangeable faces for him !!!
Sweet !!!! I'm really liking this, the slimmer proportions, clean legs and his back as well !!!

Hopefully this thread doesn't turn into a windup about DX9 Megs vs. Despotron! !!
Coz let's face it, years ago, we never much option for an MP Megs, now, we're getting options like we never dreamed off !!!
One doesn't fit, there's always the other !!!

Good luck to everyone to find an MP Megs that fits their collection !!!
Can't believe we're so lucky to be in a time when we would have so many options to choose from in terms of a Megatron !!!

 

More interested in Mt's offering, but competition is a good thing.
There we lots of tolerance issues on Gewalt which i hope they iron out before this is released, Megs already has too much history in that regard.

Sadly it's not for me, can't quite put my finger on it. It's almost like he's Megatron in dad jeans and "407's", if that makes any sense to anyone.

I love my DX-9 Galvatron. But IMHO DX-9's designs have consistently had the blocky, right angle thing you're talking about. DX-9 is like the better team playing in the same league as toyworld. They both do it, but DX-9 has a little better handle on it, plus the benefit of making sturdy well constructed toys (or so I hear).

 

 Wasted money on Apollyon, I had fun with it, time to move on to Mightron !

 

Doesn't quite cut it for me. Gun looks a little too toy like and bot seems a bit awkward looking. Maketoys is probably closest for me it even that isn't quite right.

 

Have Apollyon and I am happy with him.

This is much better than MT Despotron, but I still feel that strange DX9 touch I do not like. Legs have nice solution, lower part of torso have better proportion. Waist panels bother me and holes in shoulders where hands are attached too.

 

This is what I believe the leg transformation will be like. I actually kinda like it.

Have not been a huge fan of DX9's work in the past but this looks really good. Certainly much better than MT's Despotron.
