    CLARITY EDIT: Highly detailed NON-TRANSFORMING

I just added two new images! The 3d print proto is assembled.

UPDATE: They've begun 3D Printing tests!

I can't believe how big he'll be. Look at Jetfire next to him.

(don't suppose this warrants a news credit yet? ;)  )

Not much to see here yet, but I promised I start this thread a week ago and as far as i know no one else has yet.

4Ever has revealed a very early render of Blackout and announced he is coming. The render isn't that exciting, but looking at the DMK style products 4Ever has completed (or is close to completing) I have no doubt this will be amazing, probably the best NON-TRANSFORMING Blackout ever made.

I suggest following their facebook page as I'm terrible about posting updates and no one else seems to be.

For the time being these guys seem to be making the definitive non transforming versions of the movie figures they attempt. Prime 2.0 is the nicest piece I own.

The figures so far announced are:

    Prime 2.0 (released)
    Scorponok (coming very soon)
ROTF Megatron (we've seen a finished head, legs and arms) should be out later this year.
ROTF Prime Minor tweaks to Prime 2.0 for the old abs. Presumably released this year.
    Sentinal
    Ironhide
    Blackout

The only recent Skorponok I've seen is them.

I don't think Shockwave is them. They haven't claimed responsibility for it, I don't recall who it was. Actually as great as that Shockwave is (I do want him), he's under detailed compared to what these guys have been doing so far.

I cannot wait for this thing! The early renders don't look that great, but based on their track record, I'm sure it'll be amazing. I hope it's bigger than Megatron and that it's super accurate and articulated. A lot of custom Blackouts seem to have legs that are too short and lanky, or arms that are too low, or just have inaccurate proportions in general, etc. 4Ever definitely needs to to get the scale and proportions correct here. I sound silly and passionate about this, but I—like a lot of us movie fans—have been waiting for an accurate Blackout for 9 years now.

The closer the figure is to these pictures below, the better

I don't know how big they'll make Blackout, but given that they've chosen to make Megatron bigger to Prime (I'm guessing to scale), I think there's an excellent chance Blackout will be in the size range you want.

    Time will tell though.

So there have been other non-transforming Blackouts before?

Non-Transforming = 80+% of potential audience set this to ignore. "Everything MUST transform to be considered a Transformer worthy toy"

It damn well better be a Leader sized toy since that is the #1 harp point of unproduced figures.

If it's to scale with the other DMK and 4EVER stuff it ought to be a very large leader class. Blackout (or what ever he was called) towered over Prime in ROTF and DMK/4Ever Prime is just about the same height as the ROTF leader mold- just all of his features (windows, wheels, etc) are smaller.

The appeal of these things is that they're as detailed/nearly as detailed as the Prime 1 Statues, but articulated and a bit more affordable. These are as close to jumping off the screen as you're ever going to get. Probably no transforming toy will ever come this close.

There have been rumors for a while that someone else may have a transforming Blackout in the works, but nothing has been shown.

As far as nontransforming Blackouts, there are a number of custom builds floating around, some are very good. I've even got one. But there has not been a produced toy from anyone.

It's difficult to make movie figures as accurate as the on-screen characters though. Sometimes the only way to achieve that accuracy is to remove the transformation; but to be fair, a lot of collectors keep their TFs in robot mode anyway

As much as we'd all love a transforming Blackout, no third party has stepped up to the challenge. So for now, 4ever is the best chance

You beat me too it. Nice.

Also he's not quite as obscenely huge as we first thought. I think maybe the leg is fully extended in that first picture.

that thing is huge. Is he really supposed to be that much bigger than optimus? I'm assuming that's DMK 2.0?
