This is a really good looking IDW Kup and will round out any Wreckers collection; however, TW need to get the size right. So far most of their products have been fairly mahoosive, with their Constructicons just shy of MP-10 and their Conehead prototypes taller than him. Most Wreckers already available fall more into CHUG scale, with the likes of MMC Spartan and Generations Springer and Sandstorm standing at 7”, and Fansproject Assaulter and MMC Dicamus coming in at 8. If Cup comes in at about 7”, I’ll pre-order him the moment he’s available, as will (I suspect) a lot of other people; but if Toyworld follow their current size pattern and he comes in at close to MP-10 height, he’ll just look wrong in my collection. The only other MP Kup we’ve had a sniff of so far has been X-Transbots Locke, but apart from a G1esque head render, there’s been no news from that project at all, and with everything else on their plate, it’s likely still a few years away from seeing the light of day, so I really hope TW do the right thing (by me ).
Yes, please give us head options. I kind of like it. I may buy it out of desperation (I need Kup) but it's not a home run.
MP Kup is pretty much top of my list, but I'll admit this doesn't wow me on first viewing. Perhaps I've become too accustomed to the beefiness we see from the likes of Maketoys and Fanstoys.
Cup wasn't exactly a beefy guy lol But in this very same screen springer looks to have scoffed about 500 cyber burgers and crushed his own spine so you know G1 and its "consistency".
Blech. Looks ugly for now. The Toyworld aesthetic definitely doesn't look like it meshes well with Kup. Still, could be proven wrong with coloured images. I'm eagerly awaiting updates.
Contact me when they add two Girlbots to go with him. And please, none of this because I said it: https://twitter.com/washoi67/status/731756268289818624
I like it, especially with the feet turned round properly. If the colours and alt mode are right I'm definitely getting him. However, he MUST NOT be taller than MP Ironhide.
He is alittle to thin and square for my liking. Kup was really round and organic looking for a transformer, tho that may prove difficult to pull off in an actual toy.
If he's deluxe sized, I'll get him for my Wreckers. However, knowing the new scale that Toyworld seem to be going with I expect that won't be the case.
If Kup were human, I'd say he was a vigorous 60-year-old veteran. This looks like Kup in his late 20s. Too athletic and square. I like the head sculpt and the gun. Looks very reminiscent, stylistically, to the TFC "Ironhide" (which also had a fantastic headsculpt)... an up-sized CHUG.
