Thanks for the quick answer. This still sounds like a really cool product and can't wait to see what you do with Gen Toy's Scraper.

I'll definitely keep an eye on these. I can't really comment on what we have so far, I'm fairly weak at imagining it. Can't wait to see the proof of concept pics.

A brilliant idea; you may be on to something really cool. I'm surprised no one thought of it before! Great way to add details and insignias to really make a custom toy pop! Looking forward to seeing where you go with this!

This is an awesome idea. I'm excited to see where it goes. First Aid especially sounds enticing.

Can't say I'm interested without seeing an actual example, but I'm very intrigued by the sound of it.

Interesting - need to see applied examples. Could look very nice or overly bling-y depending on the application. Another thing you should consider is full-on accessories like weapons and such, not just cosmetic things.

I'm not big on accessories myself, but metal ones that I would have to make myself (like those metal earth kits) would be fun. Maybe even build-your-own transforming objects...

    Good Morning All.

I completely understand the need to see the Jot Plates actually on the figures before passing judgement on this new product line.

It's hard to imagine what they will look like using just some basic 2D line drawings. (3D models of upcoming products are admittedly way more interesting to look at!)

The images of the test fittings of CNC cut vinyl versions of the plates wouldn't help much either, since they are just white stickers on the figures.

But, knowing this is why i waited until just before i submitted the artwork for production to introduce the concept online. I wanted the wait between announcement and available product to be less than 2 months, and give me the opportunity to catch any "man, you should have <insert thing here>" issues that i might have been able to rectify before production.

Update to the Jot Plate project.

I completed the artwork for the Generation Toy Scraper Jot Plates, and added some Autobot and Decepticon logo sheets in a few sizes to the line.

Artwork is away. Production will start next week.

I'll have these in-hand in about 6 weeks.

Pictures of them on actual figures coming shortly thereafter.

All-in-all, the initial Jot Plate test line is for 7 unique figures, and some decepticon and autobot logo sheets.

I hopeful they will be well received and i'm able to keep expanding and making them for a larger number of figures.

    Plates have arrived.

Added a first look on the front page of the thread at what Jot Plates look like in Metal.

Next up is application to the figures.

Thanks so much for your interest and taking a look!

I would be /very/ interested in the emblems specifically tbh.

From what I can tell the emblems are purely silver coloured, right?

    Thanks for the progress updates.

Great idea and I am looking forward to seeing the followup pics with the plates applied.

I noticed they are only in one color. Are there color options using this process?

This could be an important point. If you can make nice looking etched Faction logo's in Autobot red and Decepticon purple you may be onto a winner.
Especially being able to temporarily attach with spray adhesive - they can easily be removed later for re-sale of the figure if necessary.

Thanks for the replies and PM's.

Here's a quick look at First Aid with the Jot Plates applied.

Note that Jot Plates are meant to be finishing panels. Designed to add final details to a figure, or make up for lack of detail in some areas.

This first run is a test. Not only a proof of concept, but to get an idea of which types of plate designs are preferred, and which ones are not.

Only 30ea of these plates were produced.

Those look great. I'd be interested in possibly using something like that on 3P figures, too. Not sure about Masterpiece.
