If you are wondering why I put this here. I have the iGear Weapons and Medical specialists. I am just wondering if I even need the official one now... Also if the iGear versions are even worth trying to sell now...

I recommend him, he's surprisingly nice in hand. I thought the initial photos made him look pretty rough but I'm glad I took a chance on him.

If you're an mp collector absolutely, far superior to igears in pretty much every way.

You won't get much for the specialists now but anything is better than nothing really if you don't wanna double up.

The iGears are really outdated now. They're technically more suited for a classics displays imo.

I'd recommend him, but if you are satisfied with Igear's, there's no need to double up.

Trust me when I say this tb-1599 chances are MP Ironhide is gonna be hard to find in 6 months, especially the first release in his red color scheme, they may repaint him later on in black like the Diaclone version but not like this one.

So I strongly suggest you order him.Honestly I have 2 MP Ironhide's (1 for each mode) and they are by far some of the best MP's to date, not to mention he comes with a shitload of accessories like jetpack, extra hands,an extra face, plus everything else.He was worth every penny of the $63 apiece I paid for them.I guarantee you in a year when you decide to get him he is liable to be double the price he is now,but its up to you ultimately.Later.

Over the past year, I've owned both the igear specialists (which I sold), voodoo's stealth animus, and now mp ironhide. I would still say that masterpiece ironhide is my favorite. The igear ones were the best that could be done on my mp shelf, but got rid of them once the Voodoo bots were unveiled.

I got stealth animus to go with my diaclone shelf, and I like the design the best of that figure, but the actual engineering is lacking on it. The need for the injection molding fillers and the way the screw holes are so noticeable on the back makes it less appealing to me, and the transformation just isn't that fun to me. But with the black version the holes didn't seem so apparent, so that one will be my black version, even if takara eventually makes one.*

The masterpiece one wins for me with the lower price point with so many additional accessories and a fun intuitive transformation. In my mind, the wheel flaps seem more like kidney/lower back protectors, and once I started seeing the hip flaps as holsters for an old-time security specialist, they made more sense. That last line is justification, I realize, but that is just my opinion as someone who has owned all three major Ironhide figures.

Transformers Review: MP-27 Ironhide vs VooDoo Robots Comparison. P4L Reviews - YouTube

Personally I'm waiting for something to either fix my issues with the mold, or to see what Voodoo's Ironhide looks like.

I'm not sure how much faith I place some people praising MP Ironhide. Just because the same sort of things are said about the MP Tracks being better in hand, & I don't have that reaction.

The official isn't likely to sell out completely everywhere so you can afford to sit on this and wait. Just my own opinion

I really wasn't expecting much of Ironhide, but now I've got him I think he's a great figure. Very posable, loads of accessories, fun and not-too-fiddly transformation and honestly looks really good in both modes. I held off pre-ordering Ratchet until I had Ironhide in hand as I was really unsure based of the pics I'd seen, but as soon as I'd had a little mess around with Ironhide I got my Ratchet pre-order in. Having never seen the iGear one in person I cant offer a comparison, but MP Ironhide is highly recommended by me!

um, Ironhide is one of the originals, so they'll re-release him like Sideswipe, but prolly not before 3P KO's him. You should be all sweet. If anything the 3P should limit their's so there's an aftermarket demand for it, and they shouldn't re-issue.

I've seen several people mod the leg panels so that they come up to his side and help fill in that side/back gap. I'd be interested in getting those mods if someone on Shapeways makes them. It really helps his profile. That would push me over to getting him I think.

When did you buy them and how much? Ask yourself this, Do you think people want to pay more for a c.h.u.g. Iron Hide than what they can get a MP Iron Hide for?

I got them when they first came out. (Both weapon and medic) (the ones with all of the accessories. (was thinking about selling them for 60 shipped ) without box or 70 shipped with box)

I had the same debate right now. Should I get Apollyon when I have MP megatron. I decided to just get Apollyon and I think you should to. He'll just sell you iGear hide for $20 and you already got hide for $70.

Personally, I still like the iGear versions of Ironhide and Ratchet much better. The new MP Ironhide looks like a cartoon and doesn't fit with the rest of the MP line at all IMHO.

This is EXACTLY how I feel. I don't get the whole mentality of it'll look better in hand kinda thing. If I like it looks like shit in a picture thread, then I watch a review and still feel the same, how is getting it in my hands gonna change that? I could see if you have doubts about the QC or something like that but aesthetics are a visual thing are they not? I cannot stand how the bot modes look on both Tracks and Ironhide. With Tracks I could get him and basically leave him in either flight mode or car mode, Ironhide I don't think I could even purchase him and leave it in Alt mode, that's how bad I think his bot mode is, Vodoo guys version looks better, even though not 100% accurate. Really hoping somebody else takes another stab at him. If you guys like him though, I'm glad that he fits the bill for you.
