GCreation GDW02 Prowl - Do you want Deluxe or MP size?

Discussion in 'Transformers 3rd Party Discussion' started by Scaleface, Feb 8, 2016.

?

How big should GCreation IDW Prowl stand?

  1. Classic is the best for IDW style, long live Deluxe Prowl!

    47.7%
  2. Masterpiece size is better, even if this isn't a G1 style toy.

    52.3%

Speaking with the rep from GCreation they informed me that there has been some debate inside their company and with fans as to whether their version of IDW Robots in Disguise Prowl should be in scale with Classic or MP toys. So what say you fans?

Here is the character model, based on Andrew Griffith art:

Should it stand with Classics Prowl (about 5.3 inches tall) or MP Prowl (about 6.25 inches tall)?

Note: Basically, should it be a Deluxe or a Voyager.

Results will be submitted to GCreation, although they still have the ultimate say in the size of their toy.

Make it a voyager. That thing clearly is bigger than your average police car. It looks more like a wheeled tank.

Based on the size of the cockpit, I don't take it as being the size of a "tank". I expect it to open up and have a singer man sitting in the middle.

I really dig the MP scale not because of G1, but because it's awesome having all the bots up there properly scaled. CHUG is sweet, and I still buy the official retail stuff, but it isn't what I'd call "scaled", and if these were to come out in that style, I feel like they would get lost with all of the other 3P CHUG sized things.

    So, MP size for me.

The answers make the MP choice look bad "even if this isn't a G1 style toy" is pretty much suggesting that MP is supposed to be G1 only. It's not. Case in point: official Takara Beast Wars MP which is in production. :)

I say "mp" cause i want it to be more detailed and with hands that are articulate to a degree.

I prefer Classics size for my collection as it allows me to have more figures on display. The trend for most adult collectors seems to be the larger, more detailed figures while the smaller figures are getting the brunt of cost-cutting (see TF Generations vs Masterpiece and Marvel Universe vs Marvel Legends).

Sucks being on the losing end of lines you like. I want my 3.75" figures and Classics dammit! :mad

If you would've asked me before TFM's Menasor was announced, I'd have said Classics, but they seem to have been the gateway to MP scale and quality IDW Transformers, which I think is a really exciting idea. Why shouldn't us comic fans get the same treatment? Plus I feel it would be really awesome to stand their Optimus next to MP10, as a sort of 'evolution' of Optimus Prime. :D  I really hope they have some MTMTE characters planned, a MP scaled Rodimus (as well as the rest of the Lost Light :D ) would be amazing.

The #1 objection to things not being MP size is that they don't have a G1 style.

MP Optimus Primal is certainly NOT in scale with MP10, otherwise he would be tiny.

Still, no one is stopping you from voting. I just added some explanation as to why it might be one size or the other. So 5.3 inch or 6.25 inch. That is the question.

Of course no matter which size gets the most votes, it seems clear there is a lot of support for either, and either would sell.

MP sized! When Prowl was rebuilt into this body he was bigger and bulkier than before, so MP beefcake Prowl won't look out of place in my Classics collection ;) .

Now if they can make him compatible with CW Devastator for some Prowlastator action...

I hope they make this to fit MMC's Reformatted scale. If not I guess I'll just wait and hope MMC gets around to it. I have no desire for IDW stylized MP figures as I already have an MP Prowl that fits with my MP collection.

Tbh this should be closer to voyager size as prowls alts modes have been shying away from being small and sleek from his celica days to that idw design, to something more hummer-esque when hes back on earth. TBH i cant remember his size in comparison to springer.

What Height would a Delux/Chug Prowl have?

I mean, 6.25" isn't too bad for this specific figure, but I want to know how much smaller a Delux could be. I think MMC is doing alpha / beta (drift) at voyager scale, and their femmes / cynicus are in the 6" range, but will have to measure tonight to be sure.

    Cant vote yet

This should be a Voyager, which will match either MP or the scale MMC has been bringing us their IDW-inspired guys lately, and we also have that MP-cale IDW Menasor coming up.

In any case GCreations will want this to scale to the Leader-class size of their IDW Optimus, so Voyager Voyager Voyager.

Even though my response above might indicate differently, I agree with this. Keep this guy at its current size. Voyager Prowl fits in with not only MPs but all the Leader sized Generations bots we've gotten lately too.
