Okay, Combiner Wars Victorion looks this, which some have said is less then impressive:

In the latest IDW comics cover, she looks like this:

Would you be inclined to buy a third party Victorion that looked a bit more like her art than the Combiner Wars toys?

The art looks much better, partially cause the colors are more muted and also the sleeker proportions help. I dunno if I'd buy a third party Victorion though. Dunno if there's a strong enough interest there for a third party company to give it a go.

Funny thing is if you didn't care about making it sleek, you could basically do what Hasbro did and recolor Maketoys or TFC Defensors, using two Blades and two Streetwises for limbs.

I think the combined form is about as good as you can get. The only thing I hope they change before release is to make the colors a bit more muted like in the comic. That toy picture might just be a glossy hand-painted mockup, so I hope the real thing is a little more easy on the eyes.

As for the individual robots, yeah, the robot modes could be better molded to be more like the stylized comic version as opposed to being mostly just the old bodies. I don't think the difference is enough to warrant buying a whole new set myself, but I see the appeal.

I think if there was one thing I'd like, it'd be a new combiner head that was more comic accurate. There's a lot the toy sacrafices to fit into the ladder. I'd be okay with a new head that didn't even store in other modes if it meant more pronounced crests, etc. Maybe chuck an LED in there too, if storage elsewhere isn't an issue.

Art is better but still not a fan of the colors or re-use of molds. If the alt modes were unique and differentiated, maybe, but man those colors.. Ugh.

The art is better, but that color scheme is just plain terrible. I wouldn't buy it in any form.

I voted "what's a Victorian". The art looks much better, but not enough for me.

It would have to be much nicer bot / alt modes (and feminine looking in bot mode, and cybertronian in alt mode). Only companies I can see myself considering was Iron Factory for legends (their aesthetics and design choices mix is just amazing), and maybe MMC for Delux / voyager type, but, I don't think I would want to spend that much on it, and they would take forever, and legends would prevail for me.

Combiner Wars is fine enough. I have no strong attachment to Victorion to warrant spending $400+ vs Hasbro's $100-130

What's a Victorion? The double dip on the copter mold killed Victorion for me. The colors are lame, but I really, really hate the copters. I already have Alpha Bravo, Blades, and soon will have vortex. I do not need 5 of a mold that isn't very good to begin with. I am not going to spend the $100-$150 for a hasbro version and there is zero chance of me spending $400-$500 on a 3P combiner I care nothing about.

Welp, that's one big looking combiner right there so I checked it out for all the MP size lovers. To be MP size/in proportion to that picture there, it would need to be roughly a bit more than 30 inches high seeing as MP10 is 9.5".

That's one hell of a big bizotch!

I think most MP combiners are in scale in their individual robots modes, which to me would mean the limbs would be Autobot car size, and the torso would be MP10 size. Basically the size of Warbotron.

I'd buy parts to make her individual robots look more like their comic selves.

But full figures would just be silly.

Artwork is better. But the colors are still terrible. Also, it still reeks of repaint.

I'm not into 3P "homages" of characters or 3P original characters (to me, all the 3P stuff I own aren't "homages" they ARE the character); that said I would definitely take a reimagining of Victorion that isn't straight up repaints of hollow, cheap crap.

No, not enough of a difference to warrant a purchase.
