For anyone want to buy KO MMC Feral Rex, I suggest you wait.

From what I read in Baidu, another company(MC) is making a version of KO MMC Feral Rex, it will out in a few months.
    Features:
    1) It's not simplified version, everything will be the same as MMC
    2) Same size as MMC one. Not oversized as Jinbao.
    3) 2 colors, both the original and dark version (nero rex).

Price: each member is 170 RMB, about 27 USD, of course that's Chinese local price, expect higher in here.

Personally I have a lot more faith in this MC/LC (METAL CLUB) company than Jinbao. Because Jinbao is known to make cheap KO toys, like the ko tfc Hercules.
While it's first time for MC into transformers area, but it has its own factory, and it's very well known in KO Saint Seiya myth cloth market. (Yes, I into that collection too). It's the top brand in KO Saint Seiya myth cloth. MC's quality is 80 to 90% of official Bandai myth cloth quality, that says a lot by itself.

    Baidu threads here:

One more news: according to MC, they will take over from where wukong KO Bruticus left and finish the left 3 KO of WB Bruticus.

please note: "NeoArttoys(nt)" is the company as Metal Club. You can call it either "MC, LC, or NT", those are all the brands this company use for making KO myth cloths.

Its tempting but to be honest I don't really like getting KO version of 3rd party company stuff, because they are mostly small companies and if nobody buys their original stuff then they might all go away.

You are right for most of the situations. But might not be the case for Metal club. It's actual a giant in high quality KO toys, if you search in ebay.com using "metal club saint seiya" you will see. It's probably bigger than most of 3rd party company here. For example, it has its own factory, according to the baidu thread, that's a major factor in saving the cost.

Will consider, would like a repaint of maybe one of the feralcons, if sold on it's own, like maybe Tigris

I'll have to wait to see how they do the paint apps. If they're on point with the original's paint apps, then I'll give them credit for a job well done in copying MMC's Feral Rex (and Nero Rex), but for some reason, anytime I hear KO, I'm always thinking there's gonna be some paint app issues.

The only reason the upcoming KO is interesting is because it's oversized, and therefore MP-scaled. Otherwise there's no point.

What's the point of an oversimplified just so it can be bigger in a Masterpiece collection where everything is high end looking except this??? Wouldn't it ruin the shelf high end look?

Actually I think the Feralcons - like the Warbotron or Ordin figures - look really nice with my MPs. No need for an oversized or other low quality KO version.

I buy KO's when they have something to offer that the original didn't. Typically that ends up being a more desirable size (bigger or smaller).

I pretty much don't buy them if they're more or less identical to the real thing (excpet Ratbat because I wasn't going to buy a second Soundwave just to get him- if Takara had made him available seperately i probably would have bought the real thing).

If it's not oversized what's the point? May aswell buy the originals.

The only thing that looks simplified are the bull/rhino animal legs which is only noticeable in combined mode. Oh and the combiner hands. The rest looks very similar.

That isn't stopping people from displaying Titan Devastator with their MP's.

Because the originals are too expensive?

I won't trust Jinbao's simplified/oversized one for now, not before more reviews. Because the bad record this company had in KO TFC Hercules.

Back on my previous point, which others have substantiated a bit...of course ideally we'd have true MP quality combiners, but that's not going to happen. So the next best thing is at least MP size, and even better if they're super cheap, because then we can customize and make them closer to MP quality. Look at TigerBlade's Superion. I almost jumped on Feral Rex a few weeks ago, till I realized he's too small. I regret getting UW Superion because he's so tiny. But Aerialbots were my favorite. :(

Anyway, really the point is why knock-off something that's already not an official product and then not do anything different with it? Doesn't make any sense.

Oh shit metal club is doing a third party KOs? Metal club's shit is top notch, I have all of their Saint Seiya EX gold saints in the OCE colors. They are literally indistinguishable compared to the originals, apart from the occasional QC blemish.

Too bad I already have Feral Rex, here's hoping they do FT stuff or ordin.

I won't support a KO like this. A lot of R&D goes into developing these transformers. If people buy the KOs, then more KO companies are going to make KOs. Like someone said earlier, most of the 3rd party companies are pretty small - if they don't sell enough, it's possible they go out of business.
