I am very much interested in this, though with only a single landing gear on my copy of the figure, it makes it a more difficult choice. Does anyone know whether a 3D printed version of the dual landing gear exists?
Can we see some closeups of the detail and next to the original pieces? From what I can see it looks great!! Me and my brother also made a couple of very simple wing risers for the G1 jets and they look incredible with them. What kind of printer are you using? Extrusion or resin? For me the Rotorstorm upgrade came in a couple of months too late. I repaired mine and scoured the earth for more missiles. Would've gladly gotten repro's. iDarkDesign thank you iDarkDesign you can see the comparison on the movie i lnked but i will try to make a Photo. I use both resin and plastic for my projects depending on detail/durability needs. And the wait is over! I present to you a G1 Sunstreaker addon kit you can now Restore and improve your G1 figure. Lots of loose Sunstreaker out there that can now be put back into action! Noticable improvement in Proportion and overall Look! The new forearms allow for transformation (the waist has to be removed) This is still a prototype but it will be ready soon! I need a replacement of that medium clip from Omega Supreme and treads. Ironically, I have the encore, but the treads were destroyed from heat or something.
Shark Jumper i am sorry I do not have omega supreme so i cannot make the clips that will fit 100% deathdrive i would rather focus on items that are hard to get or new projects. greboguru i have tried Shapeways before but some parts came out not fitting to well and the shipping to Poland is expensive for tests. I print them in a similar site but located in Poland and refine/paint/test fit them home to make sure they fit.
I have finally finished this upgrade! The set contains 3d printed Fists x2, Shoulder Rockets x2, Waist Piece x1Spoiler x1, Forearms x2 It improves the proportion of G1 Sunstreaker and allows for transformation with the fists on. Looks like a nice set! You should look at doing the opposite for G1 Hound, i.e. giving him longer (articulated) arms, so he can at least hold his gun straight.
Nice upgrade. Mine is already complete but I'm gonna steal this idea and make some forearms for myself that work with the original fists.
Thank you for the comments Yes I have always wondered why they did not make him like this from the start. Perhaps he was ment to be taller? and they shorten the legs? DoubleClouder yes any combination is possible.
This might be easier than tracking down original fists. I should get a replacement rotor for my Rotorstorm at some point too.
