In a recent facebook thread on Planet X's site regarding their most recent reveal, Asclepius (FoC Perceptor), PX mentioned they planned to continue working on the FoC/WfC line of characters. The subject of Trypticon was brought up and their response, however, was revealing. Here's the link to the thread: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...nt_id=938942446172905&notif_t=comment_mention (have to load the comments).

PX appears to fear working on a WfC Trypticon due to pricing. Maybe they are afraid they will experience another extremely late-bloomed event as that of their Genesis or that another figure of such large magnitude will chase off sales due to its accompanying price tag?

This is where we come in (and this poll). Although it is understandable that a figure as large and complex as WfC Trypticon would indeed carry a hefty price tag, would you as consumers (as well as fans of the FoC/WfC franchise) sincerely purchase a Trypticon by PX if priced similarly to that of Genesis? (Note: Please folks, this is regarding WfC Trypticon. No need to involved other incarnations of said character as the intent is to keep things within the realm of relevancy seeing how Planet X has, to date, only worked on FoC/WfC characters).

For me there is no question. Planet X has done us all a solid with Genesis. Though costly for some and many feared PX as, at that time, they and their figure (Genesis) were both new to the scene with little to be known from them. Since then, they not only proven themselves, but continue to show their excellent work with the releases of the FoC Dinobots and now with the announcement of FoC Perceptor. I would be definitely in for a WfC Trypticon from Planet X.

I'm sorry, i would love it if they made him for other people, and maybe i might justify buying him to myself later on. But i recently bought the Platinum version and am kinda peeved he's going for much lower prices allready, so my answer has to be other.

Please keep things within the realm of Planet X and/or FoC/WfC, but thank you for your input.

Next titan figure from hasbro after max is very likely to be a gen metro sized tryp, that alone with annihilate a lot of potential sales of any 3p tryps unfortunately.

And wfc/foc is a niche within a niche. Genesis was a dangerous project for a new company like px to pursue and as far as I'm aware they're still hurting a bit from how much he cost to make vs how many of him they were able to sell.

And honestly I expect Maketoys to do an utterly amazing Trypticon at some point with nods to both g1 and wfc, if not having bot modes representing both very nicely. So its like why even bother nagging px about it anymore? let them continue to make voyagers and ultras, its what they're good at, what has brought them success and what they should continue focusing on.

The vast vast majority of people who want A trypticon don't want wfc Trypticon so the only way to sell one in competition with a potential hasbro one is to cater to g1 interest primarily and wfc secondarily.

I don't collect anything these days but masterpiece and Animated.

But I would buy the hell out of a WFC Trypticon. But it would have to be a "proper" WFC Trypticon in bot mode. Not some WFC/G1 hybrid. Alt mode can be anything that looks good, preferably some sort of ship/base.

I'd love a WFC Trypticon to stand off agains my Omega Supreme (genesis) but the fact is that if hasbro releases a titan Trypticon the market for a 3rd party item of trypticon halves for most collectors will be satisfied by that $150 official toy and not care for a $400 collector's model. I've seen this happen many times already the past 15 years (as an adult collector)

If Trypticon doesn't win the lastest fan vote, then I'd be up for a planet X Trypticon.

Yeah, I'm on the wait and see what Hasbro does

A few years ago I would have been all for it, but when there's a possibility of a two foot tall Trypticon on the horizon for half the price...

For me, nope. Would cost way too much for me to put out all at once.

Though I do hope some update happens for those that want a modern version.

No, because I don't have the money for a multihundred hollar figure. Either Hasbro has to make one for a much lower price, or I'll skip it.

Just throwing this out there, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro's Trypticon was two foot long from head to tail, but only 18 inches or so high in bot/dino mode.

Just a gut feeling I have, which I honestly hope isn't true.

I'd need to see it first. Also Planet X has a bad habit of leaving out what I consider mandatory articulation (mostly the ankles).

I would buy an accurate looking WfC/FoC Trypticon instantly. However, I too was under the impression that MakeToys was taking up that challenge next after their Pandinus figure. So far I have been very pleased with PX's vogager size figures, and would hate to see them take the risk on another large figure if this time it would be facing competition.

I don't mind a smaller Trypticon anyways. I want a Marvel Trypticon, who was just a large Transformer, not a "city".

Depends on how big they could make him. I want something that looks like it could Brawl with generations Metroplex. I'm fine paying whatever price that sort of size and Planet-X's quality would call for. But I don't need an undersized Trypticon.

Other. If hasbro does him first hell most likely look like the WFC anyways just like metroplex looked more like the FOC one. And if they made one it be to small.

Id much rather see them take warpath,Ironhide, jazz and the aerialbots.

Me as well because that would be a pain to put on a shelf. I'd much rather have him be about 22" tall given his posture in a normal stance and a short tail.

This about sums up my feelings toward the big purple and black Dino. I hate city and base modes on transformers, even in the fiction it's just a bit much of a stretch for me cause I think these huge transformers would do better with just one genuine alt-mode ( think animated omega supreme as the ark). I'd be interested if this some how came out less than $300. I do love that FOC design though.

With the announcement of their "vote for the next Titan" poll they recently had, it is no secret that Hasbro will put out a Trypticon eventually. However, it will not be a WfC Trypticon (the focus of this poll), which I am eager for (as are some others) as much as many others are eager for an updated Trypy, period.

Hasbro has not supported the FoC/WfC line for a while now. What makes you believe their Titan class will be based on WfC instead of their current, mainly IDW, focus? Also, you might want to recheck your sources. Titan Metroplex has only 1 thing in common with FoC Metroplex: the voice wave. Otherwise he is completely IDW, not FoC.

I have to say that overall the input regarding WfC Trypy has definitely been interesting to say the least and insight on weather PX's fears are unfounded or not are much more clearer now. Thanks everyone for the contribution so far and please feel free to continue to provide more :)
