Well, you've made me buy a second Battle Core Prime for this (a mold I swore against buying, but by the time these, Beelzeboss's Prime, the three SND upgrade sets and Takaras Unite set will have 5 or 6 of, accross repaints)

I would have bought exactly zero without the numerous 3rd party upgrades, so HasTak really should thank the 3P community!

loving the new redesign, the guns on the shoulders were abit much. So what about truck mode then? Everything integrates right? right?!?!?

Also I am LOVING that you are making the articulated hands a separate piece, I can appreciate that alot. Can I just suggest that you redesign his head a little bit though? I dunno, just to make him not so optimus like even though i know youre doing the whole devastation design thing.

To be fair, Nova's head essentially is just Optimus' but with extra horns.

Apart from the obvious color differences, will this kit work on the regular optimus prime?

    That's the plan! :)

Innit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Nova's design begin life as a design for Optimus that never actually got used as Optimus, before being recycled into the comics as Nova?

Other than the smaller head (which you won't be using any more, if you go with the kit), the standard CW Prime and Battle Core Optimus moulds are identical, so yep, it'll work on both flavours of Prime.

But not on Motormaster, just to reiterate that; Motormaster's mould is different enough to make the kit not work on it.

Oh no not a huge difference, just more like the IDW version, the devastation art is just way too simple for me.

I hate to break it to you, but the kit is based on the IDW version. :p

Compare the shape of the shin guards and the wing tips o both the IDW and game representations:

There are hints of the game version, sure, but my big inspiration was definitely the original IDW version from the -ations era. :)

ETA: There are some similarities to Prime, though, as you pointed out. That was a deliberate choice, as a homage to what happened during Dark Cybertron. I won't spoil it for anyone who's not read it, but yeah, if you saw how their meeting played out, you'll know what I mean.

Well let's be honest, even if there were, I wouldn't spoil the surprise by talking about them before they're unveiled. :p

At the minute, though, no, I have not designed any Menasor add-ons for mass production.

SND are dealing with all that, so watch this space. :D

Looks great! Just preordered battle core prime to make him Nova, but I must admit you'll have some competition with beelzeboss over my money ;)

Eh, 5000 iterations of black nemesis prime, I think it would be financially safer for John to not bother with doing a black set retrofitted just for MM.

I too would like to see this upgrade kit in black. That'd be a stunning set

I'd best help to make the final kit as awesome as possible then, eh? ;)

Ye're absolutely right (plus it's a bigger job than it seems at first glance; it would mean a complete redesign of the chest connectors, for example), and thus, we've no plans to retool the kit to work on Motormaster.

That colour scheme from the comics is striking as hell, ain't it? It's not quite as nice as his usual white body, but in either form, Nova ain't half a looker!

    Well... yes, and no.

Yes, being he's in the ending, and no, because you can't fight him. So, yeah. Somewhat spoiled, but we don't know what his role is in the sequel will be like.

    Nice improvement on the wings!

Side note: This thread has convinced me to buy Devastation.

I haven't played it yet, either. Just sayin'... :p

    Thanks very much.

And honestly, I'm torn on Devasatation. On the one hand, I'm hearing it's ridiculously short, and I don't like paying full price for short games (because I was almost born in Yorkshire, and we demand value for money, dammit). On the other hand, that's literally my only problem with the game. Absolutely everything else I've seen about it has me salivating with joy.

So I may ask for it for my birthday. :p

We're still going with IDW-Nova instead of Game-Nova for the kit, though... :p
