3rd Party Or HasTak MP Minibots scaling, what do you prefer it be based on?

    Title should say:

3rd Party Or HasTak MP Minibots scaling, what do you prefer it be based on?

Moderator can you fix that for me?

Ok since we are now getting 3rd party and HasTak MP minibots ppl are all over the place on how they prefer their minibots. Badcube's Warpath cause a storm with the boards because of his size. Me personally, I think he was sized perfectly. I don't believe all the minibots should be small. If it's based on a real life vehicle especially a car bot it should be sized accordingly and let the robot fall where it may. Decepticons get a pass with me (because their alt modes are based on various things that would be hard to properly scale), but Autobots being primarily vehicles should be properly scaled with each other. Again for me AUTOBOTS should properly scaled with each other being all vehicles/cars/trucks/etc. What is your take? Let's get the scale war started!!!

NOTE: I forgot to put the scale chart as an option so if that is your choice just pick other and say scale chart in your post.

I like to scale based on alt mode, so all mine would be different sizes.

For instance in the 1984 lineup I would want:
    -Scout class Bumblebee, Windcharger, Cliffjumper.
    -Deluxe size Gears and Brawn.
    -Voyager size Huffer.

How about the scale chart as an option in your biased poll? Doesn't that seem a strange omission? You call the cartoon "all over the place" but ignore the document that renders that argument moot.

As for using vehicle mode as the basis of scale, it's the Autobot cars that are out of scale, not Bumblebee and other minibots that are being made by third parties. Using vehicle mode as standard requires so many exceptions to make it work and would have guys like Huffer and Cosmos towering over Prowl and Ironhide. It just won't work unless you're changing the characters and the TF universe.

Forgot all about the scale chart and I can't go back and add it...

Cosmos would be an exception for me since he is not a carbot but I certainly wouldnt make him some itty bitty robot

Generally, I prefer robot mode primary & alt mode if you can.

So what X-Transbots is doing is really what I like best.

The scale Wardog is at doesn't bug me, because he at least matches up with the animation.

I generally think sticking to the size chart, for robot modes, is best. Going by animation is acceptable if the result is good looking like Wardog, but I'd think he might be the exception and not the rule.

Yeah... But you have told us over and over again how much you dislike MP so your vote doesnt really count in an MPesque thread.

I like the minibots to be mini, so I'd like them to match something around the relative heights in G1 (where the minibots were generally displayed as smaller than the others, be that cartoon, comic or toy).

I don't especially care about getting too exact on the scale chart, so ballpark size is fine. But I don't especially want a heavily G1 style Powerglide or Cosmos who towers over Optimus.

Bot mode scale generally based on the holy scale chart brought forth to us by Primus himself. Alt mode scale is largely irrelevant to me.

I dont think anyone can argue scale on him, as far as I know, there are no official real life UFOs. :2c:

I think scale should exist among things of a kind. So I wouldnt want thrust's altmode to be 30% smaller than starscream's altmode. This is what comes to mind when I see Xtransbots altmode for WC and his mold brother. The original pics looked good next to the chrome lambo.

I think dinobots should be taller than prime and the seekers, prime should be taller than ironhide and trailbreaker but not by alot, the carbots should be close in size but slightly shorter than the seekers, bumble and cliff should be shorties.

I cant live by an exact chart, just has to look good relative to others in both modes.

this was always my issue with combiners that when combined werent much taller than soundwave. So do I want a 30 ft combiner? No, but I think the limbs in their bot modes should scale well with others and then the combined mode would look decent.

I actually owned Krank but I don't think he was voyager size but his size was pretty good and alt mod as well. I just wanted something a little better done. I liked huff but felt he was too small and the QC issues and paint problems made him a pass. Too bad I can't get a mix of him and Krank...now that would be the perfect Huffer for me.

Now this I can agree with.

Yeah I would've liked if Windcharger were a little bigger as he appeared to be from the earlier pics. Not sure if I want him now although it does look good overall.

Scale based on alt mode...the ONLY reliable scale constant. The robot modes will be sized based on how big their coresponding alt modes are. Not my fault Hasbro made robots based on the likes of a gun, tape players, camera, insects, aircraft carriers, etc.

Screw what the antiquated, inconsistent, convenient flimsy "mass shifting" excused, cartoon, "scale" chart and toys said!

That's my opinion at least that I'm well aware that not one single person will share it. :D

I chose other but not because I wanted scale chart scale.

    Something close to this:
Carbot size - Warpath, Cosmos, Powerglide
Half head shorter than carbots - Huffer, Gears, Brawn, Seaspray
Head shorter than carbots - Windcharger, Cliffjumper
2x Head shorter - Bumblebee, Beachcomber
