Because then it loses the only inherently "female" aspect available to it. Your question sort of makes no sense. If you want it to be female, it needs to look like one, else no one's going to know it's female. Let's think for a second, it's not like these things reproduce, therefore the only gender-based aspect to a robot figure is how it looks. In the case of robot figures, if it doesn't look like a female, it basically isn't since that's the only thing that makes it such.
It's really just a construct of our human minds to associate gender to robots, just as we anthropomorphize many other things. There is an inherent assignment of gender that comes along with that because all humans contain a gender, therefore humanizing something brings with it an assumed gender construct. Therefore, if your desire is for fem-bots, then yes, they have to look like females, else no one will know they are intended to be females. We only even assume most of them are "male" simply because that is the common default and they are voiced by human males in cartoons and such.
Personally, I'd rather we not get into all that gender rights crap that distracts from having and enjoying robot figures. Let everyone make their own assumptions about what gender the robots are, if they even care (and most of us don't, we just want cool-looking robot figures). Rather than demanding specific gendered robots, which is sort of an oxymoron to begin with, we could focus on wanting exciting, interesting designs.

I'm not the greatest writer, so yes, my idea can come off as muddled. I understand that, and truth be told I could see this thread(maybe through my own doing) was becoming something more, or less, than what it started out as. I was sort of thinking of Gobots, of you look at Crasher, almost nothing about that design says "Obviously, it's a girl!" It's a very unisex design, and yes I know why it's that way. I was just responding to the comments saying that she needed to be "sexy" and by that I inferred that they meant robo-boobs and lipstick. That not every Arcees needs to be a "sexy" breast plated robot. Also, that this would be a unique take and kind if go against the norm for the character's design. Hope that came off better; if not, again I'm not the best writer.

Whether he's seen Strika or not (which he should, Strika owns), it's just...weird to loudly proclaim how you DEMAND your pink female robot toy be SSSSEXY. IF ARCEE AIN'T GIVIN' ME A BONER, NO DEAL

For a poll like this, you might as well list a bunch of possibilities. Arcee colored, SG colored, Toxin colored, etc.

The thread is about an Arcee repaint, not just repaints of Code in general.

The Chromedome based Arcee is amusing as a historical curiosity, but I've not particular nostalgia for it to pay for an homage to a toy that never existed. If Tomy did a re-release of the original Chromedome mold, I might seriously contemplate it, but the Arcee from that mold is just too many iterations removed to trigger nostalgia in me with a similar 3P offering.

I did buy a custom painted Heroes of Cybertron figure at Botcon, years ago, but that's about as much shelf space as the concept is ever likely to get from me.

We have four options for a Classics Arcee already (iGear, PE, MMC, Hasbro/Takara) so I wasn't desperate for another.

I'd rather see FP take a shot at a repro-G1 take on the Arcee we never got in the 80s. They did well with the Glacialbots and think they would do well with something like this, regardless of what stereotypical shape it takes.

True. But when has already having multiple versions of their same character stopped these companies from at least trying to produce a new figure of that character before? *Cough!* Devastator *Cough!*
