I can't help but laugh at the fandom sometimes.

I mean, here's a company that's willing to give us more robot dinosaurs and we're saying they're not needed or don't want them? :lol

I accept Paddles with open arms. I will also accept any other FOC style dino they put out if they wish. Why you ask? Because I don't mind them taking certain liberties to expand on a good thing.

    An FOC Velociraptor? Bought.
    An FOC Ankylosaurus? Bought.
    An FOC Spinosaurus? Bought.
    Etc.
    Etc.

I can understand that canon may be a huge deciding factor for some but if they can make non-canon FOC dinos, I'd be all over them.

This is why I appreciate Steelcore from FP. They dared to go outside the lines to make great figures that aren't tied to the TF brand but can fit in regardless.

There is no difference. He transforms and out pops arms and legs making him completely versatile. Your argument only works if both modes relegate him to staying in the water. The flippers would be no more a hindrance than Prime's smokestacks or Cliffjumpers wheels in their bot modes. Considering how much of the Earth is covered in water Paddy would be 2nd only to Swoop in operational range.

He's only Paddles if you call him Paddles. You're a big boy, come up with your own name for him, I know I will be.

*Sigh* it's been a long time comin, but long gone are the days of this:

And long live the days where he's now treated like this:

Need further proof, see Geoff John's run on Aquaman. He transformed him into my 2nd favorite DC hero after Green Lantern.

My Aquaman will absolutely be riding Paddles onto battle! And there WILL be pics!!

Agreed. I haven't bought one of the FOC dinos. I prefer Fansprojects but I would buy any other dinos that FPJ wouldn't make. Paddles is bought/pre-ordered day one if they keep up the quality that the others in the line have.

I guess it's a matter of personal preference. Not all of the figures put out for game were actually in the game (examples: Blaster, Ruination, Ultra Maguns [Yes, I know he appears for the Multiplayer content, I'm talking about the story aspect of the game], etc). Yet some collect them, some don't. I personally picked up Blaster, his disc-bots, and Ultra Magnus. And, as cool as FoC Ruination is, I passed up on picking him up. Same with Soundblaster and Buzzsaw.

I am an avid fan of the Dinobots, but have little care for the members past the original 5. I do not speak for for everyone else, but it is my reason why, although enthusiastic of an FoC Paddles, I have little interest in personally collecting him (I will shamelessly admit that I am also a tad biased as the next dino Planet X should have worked/still needs to work on is WfC Trypticon :p  hehe).

Agreed, it is the reason I am enthusiastic about the figure. Anything that walks out of that "g1" box, will have my attention. But it doesn't mean I will want to collect such figure.

    Agreed here again :)

Keep bring up the DC crossovers! :D  :D  You know I'm still pushing for TF in the Lantern Corps :thumb  hehe

I'm keen on this, I've liked the look of the Planet X Dinobots, but have chosen to go with Fans Project for my Dinobots. This is a great chance to check out one of their figures and further expand the team though.

For me the 3rd parties are at their best when doing something more unique rather than trying to replicate an official character as closely as possible.

With any luck, the neck will done with ball-joints so it can easily be made variable length. Will probably get a couple if that's the case.

...Oh that's not fair, I just did a flying leap from cooking dinner to my computer when I saw the thread was updated... I was hoping for an update on Paddles! (Honestly, I've been calling him Squall^^)

In any case - I'm really looking forward to this one (also the Velociraptor and others^^)

Aquaman is in NO way as strong as superman. He can lift maybe 5-10 tons. Superman can lift hundreds of tons. Don't try to out DC me, I'm a nerd that lives at home and hasn't had sex in 3 1/2 years. All I have are my transformers and comics.

And to get back on topic, I may get paddles, I know I'm getting the other Dinobots aside for Grimlock.

Likewise, the mere thought of there being some early designs or concept art for the toy is enough to have me scrambling for this topic. Fact of the matter is this will be Planet X's first departure from pre-established designs from Fall of Cybertron and with the amount of freedom they'll be allowed with Paddles I can't help but be excited to see what they will bring to the table. Now if only they'd do an Ankylosaur as well, then I can have my perfect dream team of Dinobots. :D

And nice pre-official name there, "Squall" fits Paddles to the letter. It'll be interesting to see what name they actually do give him in the end though.

dude, aquaman owned martian manhunter while he was impersonating superman, MM is almost as strong as superman. that should say something right there.

sad thing is, i kind of lost interest while typing this. back to paddles. who hopes he gets a trident?

That and an inflatable rubber duck would make quite a package I think.

hopefully this comes out, and is embraced by the collectors, which should inspire other companies, like FansToys, to do a paddles in MP scale to go along with the others!!

and on a side note---aquaman has always been kinda 'meh' but the pics of Momoa as Aquaman in the upcoming batman/superman flick looks pretty bad assed!

At least I am not the only one then^^ I also really like the general appearance of the PlanetX Dinobots, so I'm hoping to like this one^^
Aye on the Ankylosaur as well... honestly I'd love to see the team expanded with additional members^^

*bows* Thank on that. It seemed to fit^^ I am curious about what his official 'unofficial' name will be as well
