Skip mp10 and buy the KO or better yet the oversized mpp10. He rules them all. I have TT ko, yoth, hasbro , TT nemesis, TT convoy... Mpp10 is better than all of them for joy. Buy the TT colored ko if you just want the mp scaled bot alone

Don't know what country you're in but you can get MP10 on BBTS for 159.00. Maybe shipping makes him over priced to your area.

Is the Takara version of MP-10 better? Which KO is an improvement over Takara or Hasbro MP-10?

It was not my intention to derail this thread, lol, but I'm just looking for a decently priced MP-10, preferably a Hasbro version. with shipping, the one from BBTS is $175, I'd like to get him for $130

Going for the Comic Dark helmet look but not sure it fits quite right. Maybe a full black may be a better option?

Nah, I hear you man, I'm in the same boat. I've never been a big Optimus figure fan (heresy, I know) so I don't have one in my collection but now that I have Despotron I feel sort of obliged to have an MP OP too. I want one that's excellent quality, foremost. Good paint apps, the right colors, good posability, and preferably in scale with Despotron. I'm totally open to 1P or 3P, just not sure what the recommended MP OP is these days. Maybe we should just wait to see if MakeToys decides to drop one on us at some point? :)

I'm a sucker for gunmetal so that looks pretty awesome to me.

So sorry to see that, but I'd imagine any figure could have had a similar outcome due to the torque and pressure exerted on that connection when dropped and impacted only a couple feet vertically.

Thanks for the info! I've heard about these decals and figured they'd be excellent but this is the first I know of seeing them on a figure. For those that have used them, are they pre trimmed right at or extremely close to the edges? Do they have any backing? In those images, it looks like there is a lot of substance there for a waterslide...like it is very thick but seems to have no backing, like it is only the purple symbol stuck there with no backing at all. That is exactly what I want from faction decals. Would love to hear some more about these from people who have used them.

Surprised your cannon arms floppy. Other than the ankles forward tilt and the barrel snapping off he's perfect

Maketoys' support is great. They helped me secure a replacement piece on a item I purchased secondhand, even when they had no obligation to. They will come through for you.

Completely taken with this figure. Transformation is very intuitive (only needed the instructions for the tiny spot during the initial transformation to gun mode), and took about ten minutes robot-to-gun and a little less than that gun-to-robot (according to my girlfriend, who was also impressed by him). I was lucky with my Apollyon, but he is gonna have to move over to the secondary shelf later tonight.

Also: no QC issues as of yet (fingers crossed, and condolences to those who have--hope everyone gets straightened out quickly and smoothly!), and the orange plug came out quite easily. As always, pardon the crappy cell phone pic. Woot!

Unfortunately, yes, mine does. He fell over yesterday :(  Does anyone know whether it would be possible to get replacement parts?

Same here. I was worried I wasn't going to like the faces when actually in hand, but I love all of them, including the crazy laughing one, even though it is the least liked.

I love this figure. Definitely my definitive Megatron in my collection. The right leg wants to sink in a bit after posing it, and I already tried to do the fix, but perhaps I just didn't give the pins enough punching on this leg.
I do have some slightly loose ankles but I always test each pose to see how likely it is of falling forward, and I found I never have to try too hard, even with really dynamic poses, to offset the weight a bit to ensure he's stable. Must be from dealing with so many Gestalts.

All "issues" aside, this thing is amazing. So much character. So much beef. In many ways, brilliant engineering with the metal pieces where there are joints that could be damaged through transformation if the bits were plastic. Colours, finish, proportions, tightness in most parts of the joints so far, I'm really just echoing what many have already written, but god damn is this thing satisfying to pose. The gun mode is quite big, but looks like it could do some real damage as real Megatron in gun mode. The handle is big, but holding it is not an issue. If you had to run around holding it for more than 5 minutes, your hand would get tired though, and certain plastic edges do dig into the hand here and there. Holding it does make you feel you're almost holding a real gun with all its heft. The straightness of everything is also quite good. Panel lines, barrel and scope all run together fairly straight. I left the figure overnight in gun mode, and didn't wake to any stresses or breaks.

From all the other Megatron figures ever made that do the gun mode Megs, this one is the only one I've found that has 0 issues in it's aesthetics. If not for the minor issues we all know about, I would say this figure is perfect. You could have this in a CGI model in a movie, or take the exact likeness and use it in a comic, and I doubt you would ever notice anything looking odd or out of place (other than obvious things like screw holes)
