Random question...what do these companies do with these grey prototype bots? Think they are purchaseable? I kinda like the monotone look prototypes have.

I'm sure the designers cherish them. I would.

At most you would really only be able to keep them the way they came. Resin prototypes are very fragile and are not meant to be transformed, touched, or moved around a lot which is why they ask people at conventions not to touch them.

It would be pretty cool to own one though.

If those are prototypes were sold, I'd imagine they'd be very expensive collector items.

Oh it's way to early in on this for that kind of talk.

Definitely ready for scraper. But I don't want a uneven release. 1 figure every 2 months please

The 8th was a guess, based on a listing on a UK store. it was reported in this thread that some Chinese stores have it, and someone reported that tf-direct.com has shipped their's out, so now we're just waiting for US shops to get it, so it should be soon, for Scraper, at least.

I see. Thanks guys. Yeah, I know what you mean FriendRoss, it's pretty much been like that for a reasonable time now.hehe I find it funny, but it does seem like the issues I have with OCD or patience, seems to be something that a decent number of us have in common. I'm guessing that the whole collecting thing sort of goes in hand with impatience.
I see, yeah, if he is out in China, that may mean its soon to come, but I guess it depends on how many units are going to Chinese retail. Its almost counterintuitive, it seems to make more sense to me that whenever this type of item goes on sale, as I would have always assumed that the foreign markets would be the most important to satisfy. Since these things are made in China usually anyway, It would seem that they easiest way to release them would be to ship out any product to the U.S. or Europe, and when those begin shipping out, to move the remainder of the product to China itself, in case you would want a good simultaneous launch. Of course, that's making assumptions though, and we know what that does;)

I'm glad to have managed to get my pre orders in. Surely it would have been a shame to miss out on the Megatron. I'm just curious if the company could eventually make a larger version of that figure to use as a Masterpiece styled figure. I see the design is fairly simple, and it also seems like it would also be sturdy. When I see Hegemon, I don't like the look of the gun mode at all, and I've never opened my Masterpiece Megatron figure since it's so fragile, so seeing a version from Generation Toys that looks so close to the perfect look, plus seems to have managed to design an accurate design so that things aren't so easy to break, I would just figure that it would be a nice option to which Megs figure could be purchased for anyone who wants a figure you can touch without fearing it breaking.

Do any of you guys see that in the mini figure? I don't know how its going to be in hand, but from the pictures, he just seems to hit all the necessary points in making an accurate toy. I'm glad we get this one to act as a gun as you find with the Masterpiece seekers or Soundwave. I know that they said that they would release him as a separate piece, just wondering if that means it could get a bigger brother version as well.

It was already established several pages back that Generation Toys and Warbotron are not the same company.

All 3rd party figures will hit the Overseas stores first since they come from there in the first place.

I predict this thread will go quiet for a while, while everyone goes back a few pages and reads and finds nothing.

Sheesh, maybe if you people skipped a 911 Truther meet-up or Sasquatch hunt or two, you'd be able to keep up with the thread.

It isn't definitive proof, but it damn sure trumps the entire body of circumstantial and subjective evidence that GT and Warbo are one and the same.

WHY would Warbotron release under a different name? It makes no sense. If you have a brand, you stick with it. Warbotron doesn't have NEAR the rep problem that some companies have and almost all of them stick it out with their current identity, or at least they shut down their old company before starting a new entity.

But even that is very rare. CubeX becoming BadCube is the only example I can think of and they didn't hide that fact. They even used the word "Cube" for continuity's sake. But this whole idea of these small companies keeping two concurrent brands going is completely absurd and defies all common business sense.

Recognize the pattern that, for whatever reason, this community likes to see constellations in the stars and make arbitrary connections between new, unkown companies and known ones. GT = Warbotron is just the latest in the tradition, following the likes of Warbotron = TFC, X-Transbots = KFC, MakeToys = FansProject, etv.

Why doesn't anybody ever say that ____ is really iGear or some other company that went down in flames. The people behind them really would have a reason to start over with a new brand. A company like Warbotron has no intelligible reason to do so. They are still alive and well with a solid reputation. If they alienated people with their past business practices, it is far easier to improve their relationships than spin up a new comany WHILE keeping the old one going.

Yeah, all those companies that you mentioned actually are related to some extent. At least there is strong supposition that they are related and in some cases admissions by the companies (KFC and XTB while separate are the same owners).

Lol I've already pointed out once, but this anecdotal .. that my toy seller who gets their stock directly from the company, says they have talked to the same person for Warbo and GT stuff..

But hey, maybe it's just a general distributor etc.. who knows..

It could be the same distributor, TCP even said they share a factory with Warbotron. MMC and Ocular Max are the same company, but MMC announced Ocular Max as their second company for Studio Ox style MP figures.

I don't understand all the fuss over whether a given group of companies Are related or not. Does it matter if Warbo and GT are related, or if Warbo and TFC are related, or if they are all owned by Hydra?
