You should tho, its a good mold. And the ko gives it different knee ratchets and side ratchets. At least on my ratchet version.

Personally I HATE the look of it, which is why I never bought him. But since I only need 4 more Autobots to finish off my season one Bot cast I almost caved just to be that much closer to being done.

Now I don't mind waiting a little longer for a design I find much more pleasing than the TakTom design.:D

Cool, really hope it'll be made more widely available after the Con. Hoping it comes with the improvements in the hip / stance issues too

Eh, with the hip skirt upgrade kit, MP Ironhide is a darn nice figure. I have Voodoo's Ratchet and it is nice, but it's ridiculously over engineered compared to the MP and now with the hip fixes, I'm not sure the Voodoo molds are the big winners they once were.

I'm glad everyone's getting a chance to get the figure they want, I just want people to have realistic expectations.

I think this is a pretty fair point; the Shadow Fisher kits fixed the most glaring problem with TT Ironhide/Ratchet. Their proportions are still weird and they suffer from excessively bland, smooth plastic due to uber-toon fidelity, so even though I have both TT versions I'm still interested in Animus. But I love Ironhide and don't mind having more than one.

Eh, I have Voodoo Ratchet and KO Ironhide (bought for van mode only), and I definitely prefer Voodoo. Even with the hip-skirt and butt-wheel fixes (I feel silly even typing that), I just find the TT figures to be ugly, ill-proportioned, and overly-toon-simplistic. I'm glad for the people that are happy with the modded-TT figure, but I'm not one of them. I'm thrilled to be filling this hole with the Salus match now.

However, would it be too much to wish for updated hip-ratchets for Salus pitched in with Animus? It would definitely be nice to get those improved parts.

I must agree they're too toonish. I mean, I want the MPs to look like the cartoon, that's what a good portion of us grew up with, but sometimes it's too much. Voodoo's surface detail does help break up that monotony.

Oh, by all means, if you enjoy one over the other that's understandable and fine. I just think that Voodoo, for whatever reason, dropped the ball here and people who've been waiting on this "miracle" figure aren't going to get what they've been waiting for. I do enjoy their Ratchet figure, quite a bit, actually, but for all of the mold's issues and now that the hip kits are out, I'm just not sure it's worth all the hoop jumping and exclusivity after all this time.

    I have VooDoo Salus.
I prefer the sculpt of the bot mode to MP Ratchet, and the van mode is perfectly reasonable.

I have two big problems with him, though.
1: his hip ratchet step teeth are too far apart. This means he is either standing at attention, uncomfortably wide, or at a jaunty hip angle. I hope they’ve made hip ratchets with tighter teeth.
2: He’s panel-tastic, and each element’s connection to the figure’s core it tenuous at best, with thin brittle plastic. Wayyyyyy too easy to break.

I agree that they aren't as far on the uber-toon scale as Inferno, and overall I've been pretty happy with them since I got the upgrade kits, but their legs are very blocky and plain below the knee, and personally I don't like that. Forgot to mention above that I think the windows end up in a happier place on Animus (feet) then on MP Ironhide (forearms), though still awkward.

I have both molds (Voodoo Ratchet, MP Ironhide).

I still prefer the Voodoo mold for the "extra" detailing. The transformation is a little fiddly, but never frustrating (IMO).

Not in love with the wide A stance though. Was that confirmed to be fixed for their IH?

Who's expecting a "miracle"? If people already have Salus, why would their expectations not be met by a red repaint? Most people buying this likely know exactly what it is and what it isn't.

FWIW, reading the announcement, unless something was lost in translation, it appears that Animus will be released first at the con (150 pcs), but will be followed by a general release. Why else would they go on about a special box? I'm not expecting to have to jump through a single special hoop to get this figure.

Am I missing something? Unless my reading comprehension skills have failed me, only the initial 150 figures are con exclusives followed by a regular release. This guy should be available through regular channels unless they choose not to carry it.
