I encountered the same issue with my "V2" Apollyon. Even with the crotch plastic tab flipped out, the legs still easily flopped out of place. I applied a couple coats of polish which helped only slightly but it wasn't a significant improvement. This, the gun muzzle on the robot back not staying in place, not being able to stand up on its own easily, and the plastic quality were the biggest issues with my copy. As such, I haven't dared transform him into alt mode. Appollyon is to Xtransbots what MP09 Rodimus is to Takara....it looks good on a shelf or in pictures but that's about it. I eagerly await to see if Maketoys' Despotron will be sorely needed improvement.

Great, I really wish I hadn't bought him now . I'd sell him, but he's already suffered damage trying to fix the hips. Somehow I snapped off the little panel on the left side that hides the seam in gun mode. not a crucial piece, but it makes reselling impossible.

I'd been planning on buying that 3rd Party Galvatron that just came out, but i'm SERIOUSLY gunshy on Third Party figures atm. This is the second one in a row that's had serious QC issues for me.

I and many others have agreed XTB's QC has greately improved with their latest release, Andras (Scourge). It looks like they are moving in the right direction now. Let's hope they continue with the improvements. I haven't heard any complaints about DX9's Tyrant 3p (galvatron). I did purchase DX9's Carry (Rodimus) and I'm very happy with they sturdy build quality. I'm sure that Tyrant has the same level of quality. I've decided to skip on it and wait to see the how the 3p galvatron that Xtransbots and Fanstoys stacks up.

I actually bought DX9 Carry, reconsidered, and exchanged him for Apollyon. Suffice to say I will not stop kicking my ass over that for at least a couple of months.

Just picked up a 'project' Apollyon on ebay that had the barrel broken - the part that sticks up on his back when he's in robot mode.

i need to get something to knock out the pin that holds and take out the back of the torso so I can un-screw the remaining part of the barrel that swings out.

anyone got any links or know if someone else has done something similar yet?

It isn't easy, bot I use a long plastic stick (borrowed from Titanium Saint, after I remove the ax head) to hold the peg upright as I pop on the leg.

It has gotten easier to do as I've done it a few times, but it's always a tad annoying. I think using future floor polish to make it stiffer might help. But this is the first figure I've had that could use it, and I can't bring myself to buy it while I've got my stick fix.

I mean, once the peg is on, there's little reason to unseat it. The transformation is just unfun.

I had to replace that part on my V2. The torso will have to be taken completely apart to do it, I'm afraid. The four square screw covers have to be removed to get to the screws and.... You'll see. XTB posted a video on Facebook of it being assembled/disassembled which I found to be a great help, but I will warn you now: getting that spring that goes with the die cast arm struts is a BITCH to get back in.

I'm feeling pretty lucky. No complaints. My apollyon has been transformed many Many times. Everything still sturdy, stays in place, and no signs of southbound QC issues. Smh @ all the bad after taste for xtb. Can't wait for sweeps

sounds like fun! got the thing for 99 bucks shipped and I like learning about the engineering on these kits so hopefully I won't get frustrated.

I can't seem to find the video - got a link?

Here it is... Hope this works for you. Don't know if I could have done it without seeing this. I really beat up the back of mine trying to reach the screw attaching the barrel before seeing this.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try.

Nope. Didn't help. I"ve done some looking and the problem is, that the right peg looks to be about a half-centimeter shorter than the left, and it won't fully slot because of it. I've fired off a message to XTB, hoping I can buy a replacement peg or something off them.

I have an issue I don't think has been addressed. I have a V1 and a V2. The waist swivel on my V2 is annoyingly floppy. I tried tightening it up by unhooking the hips, swiveling the waist and slathering future on parts around the swivel point. It didn't accomplish much, other than partially gumming up the springs for those spring loaded diecast bits that pop out in gin mode to fill in a pair of small gaps. Has anybody figured out a fix for this?

Sigh. I found out tonight while fiddling around that my Apollyon's left hand was missing a screw. No wonder the pinky finger was so loose.

Does anybody know what kind of screw they use for the hands? I want to just go down to my local Home Depot and buy one.

Best thing to do is remove the same screw from the other hand, take it with you and match up as best as possible.

I had the same issue, so I tried some Future Finish on the swivel joint/pin and it seems to be much better.

Basically I just got a cotton tip, dabbed with some Future and coated the pin and joint, then kept bending the join for about 5-10 mins to try and work the Future into the joint then left it overnight. It's much tighter now and doesn't flop back and forwards like before when trying to pose him.

Just the one application worked for me, if it does help a little, you can always try a second coat.

man, i am loving this dude still. it took me a while to find one second hand to replace my shit copy, but for $100 shipped and the guy throwing in like 30 extra batteries the wait was worth it.

sucks they couldn't nail the QC. as far as design goes i think this is the best it'll get, though i'm excited to see what maketoys does with theirs.

still need to swap the faces on mine. you'd think having two of these i'd have two screwdrivers but i somehow managed to lose them both...

I wouldn't be surprised if Apollyon gets retooled re-released with better qc like Ollie is getting.
