Based on my current CAD mockups for the scaled down guns, 75-80% is looking the best. At 50% the size, its basically a pea shooter. At that point, people would be better off ordering off a set from Shapeways.

The prototype Breakdown gun is 8.8cm long. The gunblade that comes with Breakdown is 8cm long. My current scaled down revision for his gun, at around 80% the original size, is 7cm long. So shorter than the gun blade, to give a visual idea.

Yeah, thats one of the next projects planned for a MTMTE planned batch of items.

 

Any way to find out how the head looks on FP Intimidator?  

 

Well, hopefully you can get some pics of the final versions up when you get a chance. I'm skeptical that reducing size by only 20% is enough to not make them still look oversized.

I'd love to buy this gun set if they look scaled properly with the stunticons.

 

I don't own Intimidator, so no idea if is compatible at all.

I'm going to do my best to achieve the best balance between being too big and too small. For myself, the prototype is too big already. However, at the same time, I'm not going to aim to find the "perfect" size, as its going to be impossible to please everyone. And with alternatives already up on shapeways, there should be enough options in the end, if the final resized Renderform versions don't work for some people.  

As for final photos, as soon as I have them, I'll be posting them up here and on the Renderform pages.

those weapons are very much needed for both stunticons and aerialbots.. i'm sick of hasbro's cheap ass hollow ugly looking guns.

Went to the site. Ordered the goods. It's a done deal.

 

Got the guns too.  

 

The heads are just Prototypes and look 3D printed, so are likely a bit rough. Maybe people will change their minds when they see what one will actually look like beyond that stage.

 

So getting the Menace head.
I was always disappointed that project never reached fruition.

Also is this the usual price for a single add on weapon of that size? $20? Maybe I'm cheap but that seems way too high for me on a dollar/mass-of-plastic ratio

I kind of like the over-sized guns!  

My personal preference, however, is for clear neon colors (like the swords)!   I want something with colors that really pop! Plus, a solid black or blue gun feels too Hasbro to me.  

 

Em, yea I normally pass on third party stuff because I'm broke, but that don't seem like a bad price at all for some really nice looking guns that would really help the look figures sitting on my shelf. Looks like I might have to give into temptation on the gun set.
