That's a vast improvement over the original version. 

 

Wow, looking over the design process, that is a ton of work! This thing looks great! I'm skeptical but hopeful that this gets mass produced.

 

If this does get a release I'll hafta pick it up.

I was quite amazed reading through this post. Other then Evasion's alt mode, all the bayformer Optimus' look the same to me, I could have never figured any of that out.

The custom was just a one-off. Styrene construction like that usually does not translate well to mass-production.

But going by the renders, it looks like this Wei Jiang company is looking to mass-produce a version of the toy based on that custom work.

 

Going to have to keep an eye on this one. MP size please.

Just after ordering an OS movie Megatron and Hound from SirToys, hope this is a similar venture.

From experience though, hope they go with the Takara version colouring, rather than the Hasbro's.

 

Looks nice.   I can tell that they're adding some stuff in there to make it more movie accurate.

I'd love to see them do this method for other movie related toys and other series like a better made Leader Class AOE Grimlock.

 

the ONLY thing about this that bugs me (and at this point i'm not even sure if it's an issue) are the bits hanging under the truck that seem to still be there…

 

This is one 3rd party movie figure I would buy. I love the original but this just blows it away.

If only they could make it work with that powermaster armor that came out for the original...

 

Very very impressive. However, is their confirmation that this is being mass produced? If so, will it be the same size as the original customized Evasion Optimus, or bigger?

 

That grey version in the pic is definitely custom (at least some of the parts - way too imperfect to have been molded/printed). I do like where this is going should it come to fruition though.

 

I got the set of 3 Wei Jiang oversized throttlebots a few months back and I was shocked to see that they were of significantly BETTER quality than the ToyWorld originals. I only had GrindRod to compare, but Wei Jiang's version was much tighter in all joints, had a backplate that stayed on (ToyWorld's just kept falling off), but the kicker was that Wei Jiang's molding was much sharper. ToyWorld's original looked like the KO in comparison.

There were a couple of KO issues, like an imperfect fit for Aurora's hood in car mode and some flash molding, but at $25 each shipped to america, it was a better toy for a better price in all areas.
Can't wait to see what they're giving us for this version of Prime.
