I like the colors and face/antenna mold on this a lot more, however I am/was really unhappy with Utopia and at some point I need to place him for sale.

 

Colors look great, Utopia was one of my favorite figures of 2014. Hesitant to order anymore MT store exclusives because their shipping practices are pretty shitty (sending expensive items in little more than the item's own box).

 

I wish they announced this more ahead of time so I could budget accordingly.

I might get this since it's a different character than Metroplex and I don't already have Utopia.

 

That's the thing though. I want to get this. 

 

Metrotitan's color scheme is just plain stupid/ridiculous for a city. I don't understand how anybody could like him. His colors would be fine on a car but not a city/giant battle cruiser. I try to imagine this thing in real life & the only place he would fit is in a parade as a giant float. Think the best word to describe him would be gaudy.  

 

Or, since the first release was called Utopia, and this being a Necrotitan, they could have simply picked a word that meant the opposite.

I normally try to disregard trolling, but who are you to say what an alien city would look like? Do you do architecture and design for other forms of life million of light years away? 'Cause that would be pretty sweet.......

Well, it's not really trolling. I don't see much if at all of that, on this board. It's more like: we went in kind of interested, and noticed something we didn't/don't like about it, and just voiced our opinion.

I don't collect this scale/size/whatever; but I have to agree the color scheme is very "ugly" (my opinion) and looks like star saber colors (anime-ish, Gundam-ish). As you could probably tell from this statement; I have absolutely no interest in Victory or Star Saber as well. Way to corny for my tastes. And that's saying something with the kind of hobbies we're into! lol

He's not trolling, he's just approaching his opinion of the color scheme with a certain degree of extra logic, which a lot of people do with this franchise despite its core concept being so very fantastical. And their is nothing wrong with that.

After looking at plenty of pics of the g1 figure I've come to realize I too probably don't need to worry about missing out on this guy. He'd be cool to have (since I loooove my regular Utopia, best figure of 2014 by miles) but boy do those colors just not work as well as regular metros. Bright yellow on bright blue next to bright red and shiny pure white. Very little contrast, tonnes of neon glowing vibrancy. He's as garish as the most garish g2 designs that exist.

And yet their are so many g2 color schemes I love despite their eye-burning nature. Kinda glad I took the time to really think hard on this as I was on the verge of thinking I need to dump the 400+ on this guy that will be required.

But nah, its awesome other people will get to experience this amazing mold now but I for one am content with the vanilla.

 

Leave it to 3rd parties to put the Metrotitan debate to rest.

 

Wait. How come everyone is so familiar with, and crazy about, Metrotitan, but not Star Saber? Anyway, that color scheme is atrocious. I hope they didn't produce too many copies.
