Just kidding... that looks wonderful. I'd 100% buy a version that looked like that (and I agree that "Edison" is the perfect name for it). The good thing about the "heroic" proportions is that they (ironically, perhaps) look great on an evil repaint. If Fantoys released this remold/repaint, and they'd be crazy not to, I'd happily add him to my Diaclone/Pre-TF MP shelf.

 

Actually looks a pretty cool figure. It could have done with just a little more detailing though IMO.


FansToys have had some strange choices of figures. There are some Transformers that people remember over others because, quite frankly, they were a bit on the lame side. Perceptor and Reflector are two examples imo. At least they're not announcing a SkyLynx figure.

 

Yeah, Reflector is pretty exciting to me in part because he is fairly lame. I'm less excited about Perceptor, for some reason.

I was really hoping they would send this to a reviewer to show off in a more common light.

But as it stands I think I'm gonna have to cancel, the face just ruins it. I honestly don't see how they think it looks like any incarnation of Perceptor. With all the other good stuff coming out I just cant tie up 109 bucks in a "its a good stand-in" type figure.

I'm still holding out hope that someone gets one in hand first. I mean look at Sever, his face looks bad in some shots, but alright in others. Thats what I am hoping is the case with Tesla as well.  

Plus if FT continues tradition, its highly likely Tesla will have a second optional head. So I'm just sorta patiently waiting to see what happens. XD

After seeing their interpretation of Sludge and comparing it to Tesla, I have to say they made the same mistake with both: too slender waist and/or too wide shoulders. Neither of them is an athlete type that needs heroic proportions.

That said, I really dig the black recoloring. And for some reason that I am not sure about, the heroic proportions work. I might just buy the black recolor if FT does it (and then I have to hunt down MP-23 as well for that group shot with Black Convoy, even if I didn't want to buy him at first - damn you Psychoshi for that photoshopped picture!).

 

Who's to say its not a picture of me! Victoria's secret models can be interested in third party Transformer imports too you know.
