All adult collectibles are made in the same low wage economy as TT figures.

Got one. And I don't care it's a KO, I collect for myself, not other people. So if people are offended I buy a KO, then that is their problem, not mine.

Personally the only issue that I have with KOs is that with every new regular MP release, more and more folks say "I'll wait for the KO" instead. That's gonna bite us all in the ass in the long run, because as official MPs make less and less money thanks to the KO waiters, TakTom will just decide the line isn't worth it anymore and drop it.

Well I got 1 too... I don't fancy Soundblaster enough to spring for him and while this is KO, I really want him standing on the shoulder of Soundwave.

I believe if for some reason u missed out on the original release and u either not willing or cant afford the aftermarket prices for it then why not get the KO instead. You wouldnt be getting the original anyway. Also life is too short not to have a ratbat just coz of some corporate TT asshole deciding to shove SB in our throats

P.s. Damn I cant order it from work...hope the seller got more in stock

The thought has occurred, but as long as impatient fools like me exist I imagine we'll be fine. I'd be more worried about the trend toward cost cutting like hollow arms and paint apps bringing down the esteem of the line in general.

I agree with this. This will be the first KO product I buy, just because I won't buy an expensive repaint I dont want. If this product didnt exist, I just wouldn't own a Ratbat. So in this case, my purchase is in no way taking a sale away from Takara.

Ratbat completed my gallery of Marvel Decepticon Leaders. That was a feeling everyone deserves.

After the US release of MP Prowl at $60 - $70. This killed it for me, the car figures are not worth that price. So I went for a KO at $32 on eBay. Has/TT wants that much for those figures, they need better hands, weapon storeage in both modes, and great paint. Maybe the KOs will just help bring the release price down on the real MPs.

For $20, I took the plunge. All my othe KO MPs are just as good as yhe real ones. This particular one I decided not to get unless it was KOd just because i didn't want to pay Soundblaster prices for just the cassette. (My other KOs are the lambo bros, because I'd stopped collecting MPs at the time and the sold out first run was prohibitively expensive on the aftermarket, the casseticons because even though I got the actual Hasbro versions I wanted a second set for my CHUG shelf, and MP-10 because of the glorious paintjob).

I don't think the KOs really hurt Takara, IIRC all their MP toys basically sell out. Even the old Ultra Magnus mp-1 repaint and soundblaster eventually. They even made a second run of the Lambos AFTER they were KOd.

And I agree that $70 for Hasbro MP Prowl is ridiculous... Sunstorm was like twice the size for $5 more. But all that did was eliminate any incentive to wait for their domestic release. I can import the Takara versions for the same price a year earlier without dealing with the Tru distribution snarl

It's been said before but TT really need to smarten up as to how they sell things.

I'm guessing maybe the seller had 100 or so based on the 1st auction with 50, 2nd with 30, and the 3rd with whatever he had left. I'll bet any more he gets will be at $30.
