That maybe the best thing I've heard about XTB. Seems like an excellent way to catch issues with the figures and spread out reviews and pictures. Wins all around on that decision!

These pictures show the scope/fusion cannon with a CLEAR lens instead of red. While I would definitely prefer clear for changing the LED, at what point in the process were the lenses changed to clear? Or, is this some sort of prototype as well???

So, the questions continue with no answers so far:

1. Do the little pegs on either side of the eyepiece on the scope flip open like MP-05?

2. What color is the LED, and can it be accessed without damaging the scope?

3. Will the final production toys have clear scope lenses now? Does that mean the included LED is red then?

 

I'm sort of embarrassed to say that I still haven't even looked into finding a battery for that cannon light.

Yep, I meant it in a good way. I'm a firm believer in beta testing and it looks to have worked great for Polly here. Issues caught and fixes implemented before shipping to paying customers.

Yes, right by the eye piece. They look like they can flip out (no pun) but it could just be a good plastic mold.

Yeah X-TB chose apparently quite a few folks to send early samples to, these aren't being passed around like the early production reviews were. In my case I was asked for input about the project, I guess because of my own work/Radicons etc (although I have to say Apollyon was already looking great even at that stage, so I didn't actually suggest much of use  ).

They are from the larger set, here - Wholesale Product Snapshot Product name is Ocean TF Decepticon Engraving metal Logo decals,large size.
I used the second size up from the bottom (14mm width). No actual border on the ones I used, but I think the edge is catching the light in my photo.

Incidentally, if you're worried about getting them crooked, I measured the width of the chest and marked the centre very softly with a couple of pencil marks (the label covered these up). To make it even easier, before applying you have to cut the labels off their sheet - cut a neat straight line between the different sizes of logos (there's not much gap) and you can use that as a guideline along the top of the chest when stickering him up  

Yeah that was something I noted. It is handy to be able to pose the cannon at an angle (it can clash with the upper arm in some poses), but it should have been done with a hexagonal shaped peg/hole or something IMO.

 

Thanks for this info! The size of the logo looks perfect but as you mention, the edges do seem to show and it's not clean separate metal pieces like I had thought. This is the photo you are talking about right?:


I thought I saw some pictures before where the logo is just metal pieces like I was asking about before with no backing at all. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

 

Holdover from the original toy. I believe the cannon mode had a variation where it had a seat for Microman figures, and the flip-out handles were there for the smaller figures.

I skipped through some of the videos (trying not to spoil myself on the transformation bits, just the features and quality assessments), and doesn't this figure have something similar?

Well on the original, they were there for a Microman to hold, when the cannon assembly was set up for it. I do wonder if these are sized so Frenzy/Rumble can hold onto them.

(Not a Microman figure, but basically doing the same thing.)
