MP, 3p, and G1 boxes, oh and my sdcc metroplex, i keep... thats pretty much all i buy anymore anyways.

they get stacked into the great wall of boxes that line a exterior wall of my basement

    for the following reasons.

    1. potential resale value
    2. some of those boxes are pretty niffty
    3. i think i can make a reasonable argument the boxes provide a extra layer of insulation along a block wall that is partially above and below ground
    4. Storage of related stuff like extrA HEads, instructions, m&p coins and stuff

I'd love to keep 'em, but there's just no room. I keep a select few boxes, but am even now looking to downsize.

It's a shame because there's, obviously, a lot of though put into them.

Yeah, I keep every MP and third party box. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why. I buy these figure to display in my own collection, not to resell, so why do I have all these damn boxes?!?!?!

I may need to go through them. Definitely keeping the MP boxes, but there are probably several third party boxes I could get rid of.

95% of boxes I throw away. A few I keep because they look nice or are particularly large and I reuse them for storage (parts, instructions, etc).

I always toss/recycle Hasbro packaging. I was keeping all of my Takara MP and third-party boxes, but at the beginning of summer, I cleaned house. I emptied out all of the inserts and flattened the MP boxes and stuck them along side a shelving unit in a closet. Most of the third-part boxes got recycled/tossed. There's just no room.

I have kept a few of the nicer boxes for 3P stuff, mostly the MMC book-style boxes, Mania King, Columpio (though I may just cut the front flap off), Function-X series, and the Glacial Bots (way too cool to toss).

I keep mine in case, for some reason, I decide I want to sell. But yeah, they take up a lot of room. I should get rid of the boxes for the ones I would only sell if I really had to.

Same for MPs, though for the cars, they're small enough. I'll probably toss Grimlock's box. That thing's huge, and I plan to keep him.

Keeping the box for Encore Fort Max and Generations Metroplex cause they make some good storage.

i only have a few 3rd party stuff and most of it are add ons so the boxes are small. i just started getting a few 3rd party figures recently and the few MPs i have i kept the boxes.

mostly for moving purposes or eventual resells if that ever happens.

btw i think this thread needs a poll but i guess it's too late now.

Much as I would like to keep them, they mostly get tossed in the bin.

The recycle bin mind you ;)

Most of the boxes are thrown out, the only exceptions are ones that I really adore the art work for (such as iGear's original trio coneheads), or if I'm not 100% certain I'm keeping the toy and thus keep the box for the potential later sale.
This also applies to offical HasTak boxes^^

I've been keeping all my 3p boxes, on the assumption that if I end up needing to sell the figures, they will sell for significantly more with good condition packing materials. Would y'all say this is true? If not, I'll be glad to dump them.

I keep them and put a certain amount in a big box to store in my garage. Then I just repeat the cycle.

Most expensive items typically fetch at least a little more when the box is included. Why I save all my 3rd party and mp boxes. I do save the card back to hasbro stuff, however.

I save the boxes for resale value (if need be) and for storage purposes of figures not on display at the moment.

My only problem is where I keep them all. We don't have a garage. So all in plastic tubs in the closet :D

The cheaper packages, say like TFC, just get tossed in the recycler. The nice, MP, style boxes like iGear, MMC, and Warbotron get throw. Into the attic. God forbid I ever have to clean out that attic.
