Pretty sure these aren't knockoffs in the traditional sense, and more just factory rejects. So we won't see a blue KO till there's an official one.

 

Too bad that gold Sideswipe is ugly in robot mode... I wish they'd have just done Clampdown and Deepcover. At least the KO would satisfy me until I got "real" ones.

 

 

Yeah, as tempting as this guy is, I'll just wait for a blue version whether it be a KO or official release.

 

This is one KO I may just buy. Had Silverstreak been a $45 Japanese retail release, I'd already own one. As an $80 convention exclusive, not so much.

 

Does anyone have passing familiarity with this from a modification perspective?

I have the inclination to get one of these and mix & match pieces from the official MP-18 to improve toy accuracy, and repaint the leftover parts to replace MP-19's head and shoulder cannons.

My biggest disappointment with the various shoulder rocket add-ons offered by Dr. Wu et al was the inability to mount replacement white rocket launchers on Smokescreen, and I'd like to know if the KO parts are compatible for such a thing.

 

I'd also like to add the rockets to smokescreen, anyone know if it works

Man, mine still says shanghai, lol. I've had a few of these KOs never update till it hits my doorstep, maybe today/tomorrow.

 

Got it in my hand now. I haven't transformed him yet, but he feels like my authentic MP18...

 

I don't have my MP18 in front of me, but I had to LOOK for flaws. The only obvious thing I found was what appears to be mold flash on his face. Other than that, a few paint issues here and there, but honestly, nothing that you can't get on authentic masterpieces. Heck, the KO holds his gun better than my authentic MP18...

 

What is "Mold Flash"? I can't see anything on the face, but I don't know what I'm looking for either.

the crest on his head looks pretty bad in this case, hope mine looks better. still worth the $40.

 

Did you order from that seller that was posted here at the beginning of the thread? I'm concerned at how it was packaged. Envelope? Box? Was it ok or beat up?

 

Now that I have my MP18 in front of me, I can see the paint on the crest doesn't go all the way in. There's the flash on the face. There's a small chip on one of the doors (nothing that can't be on a real one). The actual paint looks like there could be a few areas that are more thinly applied than others (toes, lower upper arms).

Having said all that, keep in mind I'm comparing to my original MP18, not MP18S.

The seller was toyshome2014 on eBay.com, which looking at it, seems to be the same seller. It was in a box with bubble wrap and lots of tape. The figure's box isn't perfect, but I'm hardly getting a KO to keep the box...

Also of note, the price is a few bucks cheaper now than when I bought it...
