Well it looks like it was my fault he could'nt stand properly. After looking at Sols pics again I noticed the heel on mine was'nt pushed down. That gave him the extra stability he needed.
Actually, that might not happen. Each Revoltech figure comes with only a handfull of accessories in order to keep them all at the same price. His hammer is a signiture accessory, it's also very big.
These guys have been criminally overlooked up to now, so mad props to CMs for making a set of them! They're a nice kit - not pre-built, so you have that bit of fun for yourself! However, the trade off is worth it, and they are extremely easy to put together. The box is very nicely done, showing the pliers in their different configurations. Some assembly required! Here's the three of them fully assembled. Total build time was just under three hours, an hour each, roughly. The main problem with these guys is that they are prepainted on the sprues, sometimes around where you have to cut them off, so you're left with spots of the bare orange plastic underneath from the cutting and sanding. Be warned, the chrome needs to be sanded off on some of the pegs, since they are a very snug fit and won't fit well without some help. That said, the final product doesn't show this up too much. They look very nice, very show accurate. With a couple of extra connecting pieces, they can form this "Transport Mode". Here they are in Pliers mode. The combinations are rock solid, and several of the parts are extremely stiff, because the chrome paint thickens the connections - I'd imagine the test shots were done using non-chromed parts. Here's the connection for CM's GGG. That said, with a little work... Sorry for the dark picture. This is the Sonokong released GGG with the Pliers. A stand is provided, but it's sized for the shorter CM's GGG. Fortunately, a couple of Marvel Legends stands support the Pliers just as well! This is completely unmodified, but you could either drill some holes in GGG's fists for the posts to slide onto, or remove the posts (I'd recommend drilling the holes so you have more stability). Unmodified like this I just slid my GGG's fists forward slightly, off of their usual locking position and pushed the fists in a bit to imitate the connection. It looks pretty good! The Pliers robots are a great scale with the Sonokong / Takara GGG, I think they might be closer to show accurate scale than with the CM's version. Overall, they're a great addition to any Brave collection, even if you just display them with your Takara GGG mecha, they won't look out of place at all.
No. Their GGG and Goldymarg are the only two things in my entire collection that I've ever regretted buying. I found the build quality to be extremely poor with a bad fit, cheap plastic, weak engineering and terrible instructions. They're mass production toy quality at a collector's price. Good accessories though.
Some time this month. Though personally, I'm pining over the SHE Black Might Gaine coming out in October: http://halfeye.m78.com/products/sc_bmgain/bmgain.html Now, the question is, will it combine with SHE Might Kaiser? ;P
Well, first you've got Red Geist, aka Dezaras from Transfomers Victory. I don't own him, but I think Ams did a few pictures in the early pages of the thread. Might Gaine had two - Hiryu aka Sonic Bomber and Goryu aka Dai Atlas, both of Transformers Zone: J Decker has Shadow Maru, a remolded Sixshot: Goldran frequently crossed swords with Descaligun, aka Sky Garry of Return of Convoy fame: Lastly, Dagwon featured Thunder Dagwon, a remolded Galaxy Shuttle from TF Victory and Zone, and Dagbase, which was a nicely redone version of Grandus from Return of Convoy. Unlike the rest of the Zone remolds, Dagbase did not come with the Micromaster. Some of the Brave shows also featured TF designs as villains. Exkaiser's main antagonists were the Geister space pirates, the four of them based off of the Dinobots Slag, Sludge, Snarl and Swoop. Their leader, Dino Geist, was an all new design, though some of his aesthetics were Grimlock-inspired. Zanzarigan was another who was based off of a TF design, this time Scorponok. He turned up later in Goldran, but again never got a toy release. On the subject of Goldran, the last opponent who only turned up in the final story has a lot of design similarities with the later RiD Megatron design, leading me to think that when RiD Megatron was designed (as Gigatron in Japan) someone picked up and redid the Goldran design, though since Sunrise handled the animation side of things and Takara the toys it may have been a coincidence.
I just received Masterpiece King Exkizer (courtesy of Chaos Muffin) and he is fantastic. Especially when combined with Dragon Kizer. That was money well spent and my first foray into the world of Brave toys.
My Lucky Draw Braves: Choryujin (1 of 20) Mic Sounders (1 of 10) I have another LD Mic being held hostage by Celga in Japan too Lucky Draw Braves are the focus of my collection right now, but they'r really hard to find
Might Gaine...are the "lucky draw" Braves, chromed? They do look amazing from the pictures. I assume there's a "lucky draw" version of GaoGaiGar and Goldy too?
Yeah, these are both "Colorful Mekki", meaning they're chromed in colors close to the original toys' colors. Here's a complete list of lucky draw GGG toys: Gold chrome GaoGaiGar (20 made total) Colorful chrom Choryujin (20 made total) Colorful chrome Volfogg (10 made total) Colorful chrome Mic Sounders (10 made total) Colorful chrome Gekiryujin (10 made total) Silver chrome King J-Der (10 made total) Unfortunately, Goldimarg is the one DX GGG toy they never made as a Lucky Draw toy.
can't wait till I get my MP Dragon Kizer in my POL at BBTS so I can combine it with MP King Exkizer BTW this is my first exposure to the Brave toys and I must say these toys are top notch
Wow! Only 20 for GaoGaiGar! He's going to cost you a bomb should you ever find him! How many were made for the "lucky draw" Braves you picked up?
Nothing ground breaking, but I did manage to pick up the follow 2 'bots MIB, stickers unapplied for $20 each.
Does anybody have animation clips of the dinobot like characters in brave that were based of the dinobots? I know that they didn't have a toy but I still would like to see what they looked like.
Me and some friends fansubbed a couple episodes of Exkaiser. The Dinobot characters are features pretty predominately in them. Here's the torrent: http://chou-mendoukusai.edwardk.info/%5BC-M_%26_PDSG%5D_Brave_Exkaiser_-_01-04.torrent
